    摘要: A splitter device includes a first splitter comprising an input leg coupled to a provider content input port, a first output leg, and a second output leg. The provider content input port is configured to receive a downstream-propagating provider bandwidth. The splitter device further includes a first conductive path coupled to the first output leg of the first splitter, and a second conductive path coupled to the second output leg of the first splitter. The splitter device further includes a second splitter having an input leg coupled to a first home network bandwidth, a first output leg coupled to the first conductive path, and a second output leg. The splitter device further includes a third splitter having an input leg coupled to a second home network bandwidth, a first output leg coupled to the second conductive path, and a second output leg. The splitter device further includes a bridge circuit operatively coupled between the first conductive path and the second conductive path. The bridge circuit is configured to propagate a home network bandwidth from the first user port to the second user port and isolate the provider bandwidth from the home network bandwidth.

The device is adapted to be coupled to incoming and outgoing coaxial cables and includes a ferrite core configured as a first hollow cylinder mounted coaxially within a housing configured as a second hollow cylinder. A conductor within the housing has opposite ends positioned for electrical contact with the incoming and outgoing coaxial cables and an intermediate portion passing through the ferrite core longitudinally at least twice, being passed back over the outside surface of the core between passes therethrough. The elements are so dimensioned that the outside diameter of the housing is less than one inch, thereby allowing side-by-side mounting of a plurality of the devices on industry-standard, multi-port taps which have center-to-center spacings of one inch.

    摘要: An F-type connector for mounting to a prepared terminal end of a coaxial cable for threaded engagement of a nut on the connector to a threaded shaft at a port on video equipment to which the coaxial cable is to be electrically connected. In the connector of the present invention, the nut is mounted for limited axial movement with respect to the post, body and compression ring. A coil spring biases the nut toward a rest position with respect to the other elements wherein not more than three revolutions of the nut into engagement with the shaft are necessary in order to bring the post of the connector into contact with the shaft on the equipment, providing a satisfactory coupling. Upon further revolution of the nut, the post and shaft remain in contact as the nut moves axially away from the rest position with respect to the other elements.

    摘要: An integrated seal assembly is provided, as is a coaxial cable system component incorporating the seal assembly with a connector for coupling to an externally threaded port. The seal assembly includes a bellows-type seal formed at least partially of a conductive elastomer and having an elastically deformable tubular body and a plurality of sealing surfaces, and an integral joint-section intermediate an anterior end and a posterior end that assists in the axial deformation of the seal in response to axially-directed force. One of the sealing surfaces engages a corresponding surface of an internally threaded nut or housing. The component is engagable with an externally threaded port via the internally threaded connector. The anterior end of the seal fits over the port and a sealing surface of the seal is capable of sealing axially against a shoulder of the port while the seal body covers the otherwise exposed externally threaded port. Upon tightening of the nut on the port, the seal deflects in the axial direction to accommodate a variety of distances between the connector and the shoulder of the port. Additionally, the seal is capable of expanding to allow a second sealing surface to contact and seal against a variety of smooth outside diameters of the port. The versatility of the seal allows an operator to use one connector of a system component on a wide variety of externally threaded ports without the risk of a faulty seal at the connection or a poor connection due to an improper seal.

    摘要: A downstream bandwidth output level and/or output level tilt compensation device that can be inserted into a signal transmission line of a CATV system on a premise of a user. The device includes a tuner that identifies low and high band signal channels, and a channel analyzer that determines a format of each of those channels. A signal measurement measures low and high band signal strengths. An offset circuit adds or subtracts an offset value to the low and/or high band channel signal strengths depending on whether the respective channel is analog or digital. A microprocessor compares the low and high band signal strengths, including any offset values, to a predetermined signal strength loss curve. A variable output level compensation device and a variable slope adjusting circuit are provided to amplify and adjust the gain slope of the downstream bandwidth.
