摘要: A method for providing a calibration test gas sample includes identifying a first test canister containing a standard test gas including an ionic gas. A chemical formulation of the standard test gas includes a cation and an anion. The method further includes replacing the first test canister with a second test canister containing an improved test gas. A chemical formulation of the improved test gas includes a replacement atom comprising one of a heavier isotope of one of the cation and the anion.

摘要: A system for media handling and uniformity calibration for an image scanner includes an optical window, an assist roller, an adjustment mechanism, and a calibration strip. The assist roller receives and guides media through a gap between the assist roller and the optical window. The adjustment mechanism is integrated with the assist roller for controlling the distance between the assist roller and the optical window for smooth passage of media. The controlled reflectivity calibration strip connected to the adjustment mechanism facilitates sensor calibration, such as flat field correction. The adjustment mechanism moves to position the calibration strip in alignment with the optical window whenever sensor calibration is desired.

摘要: A lighting system controller is provided that is configured to automatically synchronize a lighting controller with a centralized configuration. In a particular example, this automatic synchronization activity may include modifying the configuration of the lighting controller to match configuration information stored locally on the lighting system controller. Conversely, this automatic synchronization activity may include modifying the locally stored configuration information to match the current configuration of the lighting controller. In some examples, the lighting system controller is configured to use cyclic redundancy checks when determining whether to modify configuration information.

摘要: A real-time billing monitoring system and method. A processor receiving time data with respect to a task. The time data measures an amount of work accruing by one or more staff members toward completion of the task as the task is being performed. The processor generates a graphical object representing the time data as the task is being performed. The object is displayed on a display device concurrently with the performance of the task.

摘要: The identification of safe havens for hazardous material transports is provided. Safe havens include locations at which a hazardous material transport is less susceptible to an event that may result in a hazardous material release and/or a location at which the impact of a hazardous material release is reduced. When an event occurs indicating that hazardous material transports should be moved to safe havens, the locations of hazardous material transports are determined. Safe havens may then be determined for each hazardous material transport. In some cases, safe havens may be selected from a group of predetermined locations designated as safe havens. In some cases, locations may be dynamically designated as safe havens for hazardous material transports after the occurrence of an event. The hazardous material transports are then moved to the selected safe havens, thereby reducing their susceptibility to events and/or minimizing the impact of an event that involves a hazardous material transport.

摘要: A lighting control system for a space equipped with lamps for illuminating the space comprises a power circuit for supplying power to the lamps, a controllable switch in the power circuit for turning the lamps on and off, an occupancy sensor for detecting motion within the space and generating a motion-detected control signal in response to the detection of such motion, and a timer for measuring a time-out interval following the generation of the motion-detected control signal by the occupancy sensor and producing a time-out control signal in response to completion of the measurement of the time-out interval. A processor receives the control signals from the occupancy sensor and the timer and produces a switch-off control signal for the controllable switch to turn the lamps off in response to the time-out control signal, modifies the time-out interval by a time-out offset value in response to preselected events, counts the number of times the switch-off control signal is produced, without the receipt of the motion-detected control signal, within a predetermined time following the end of the time-out interval, and decrements the time-out interval by the offset value in response to the count reaching a predetermined value.
