摘要： A method to start an internal combustion engine having a variable event valvetrain is provided. The method includes increasing the speed of said internal combustion engine during a start from a stopped position after a request to start said internal combustion engine. The method may further include increasing an intake valve lift amount, of at least a cylinder during said start while said internal combustion engine speed is increasing. The method may further include only enabling fuel flow to said cylinder when said intake valve lift amount reaches a predetermined level.

摘要： A base assembly, including wheels, is attachable to the bottom of a hose reel enclosure. This assembly enables the hose reel enclosure to pivot about a vertical axis. This pivotal movement of the hose reel enclosure permits a hose to be withdrawn from and wound back onto the hose reel in the enclosure while remaining substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the hose reel. This also enables a hose to be taken up evenly onto the hose reel and played out from the hose reel without tipping over the hose reel enclosure. In one embodiment, the base assembly is attached to the bottom of a hose reel enclosure. Two wheels are mounted at one end portion of the assembly and a stake is positioned in a member mounted between the end portions of the base assembly. The stake is driven into the ground below the hose reel enclosure. The wheels enable the hose reel enclosure to be pivoted along the ground about the stake to enable a hose to be evenly taken up onto the hose reel and played out from the hose reel without tipping the hose reel enclosure over. In another embodiment, the wheels and stake are mounted directly onto the hose reel enclosure.

Using the packet data tunnel, a defined level of performance for data packets communicated between the 3G network and the phone is established, and data packets are routed between the 3G network and the phone based on the defined level of performance.

According to the method, valve lift and/or timing can be adjusted to reduce the amount of oxygen pumped into an exhaust gas after treatment system. The method can reduce engine emissions, at least during some conditions, since there may be less oxygen available to alter the operating state of the exhaust gas after treatment system.

According to the method, at least a portion of the fuel is injected during the intake valve open period with retarded valve timing. The method can reduce fuel consumption, reduce transient fuel requirements, improve engine performance, and reduce CO emissions, at least under some conditions.
