摘要: A method is disclosed for controlling the dispensing of fluid from a source at a hydrostatic pressure involving the sequential measuring and dispensing of predetermined volumetric increments of fluid from the source of fluid during different ones of a series of time intervals. Apparatus is also provided for controlling the dispensing of fluid, including metering means for receiving a predetermined increment of fluid and for emptying the predetermined increment of fluid, conduit means for delivering fluid from a source of fluid to the metering means, and control means for actuating the metering means between a condition for receiving one predetermined increment of fluid and a condition for emptying the predetermined increment of fluid.

摘要: By distributing various information and monitoring centers that monitor distributed networks and unauthorized access attempts, it is possible to, for example, more quickly defend against an unauthorized access attempts. For example, a Level 1 monitoring center could monitor a predetermined geographical area serving, for example, a wide variety of commercial and public sites, an organizational structure, or the like, for alarms. Upon analyzing an alarm for various characteristics, the Level 1 monitoring center can refer the unauthorized access attempt to an appropriate Level 2 center for, for example, possible retaliatory and/or legal action. Then, a Level 3 monitoring center can record and maintain an overall picture of the security of one or more networks, the plurality of monitoring centers and information about one or more hacking attempts.

摘要: An electromagnetic flow meter is disclosed which can be used to measure flow in low conductivity fluids, for example alcohol, turpentine, oil or other organic solvents. In one embodiment, the electromagnetic flow meter includes an elongate flow conduit having a direction of elongation corresponding to a direction of fluid flow, magnetic field generating means for generating a magnetic field across the flow conduit and potential sensing electrodes for sensing a potential generated by the magnetic field in a fluid flowing through the conduit. Both the field generating means and the potential sensing electrodes of the flow meter are elongate in the direction of flow.

摘要: A filter cleaning device includes a cleaning chamber operable to receive a gas filter to be cleaned, the cleaning chamber having an inlet through which a gas flow can be admitted and an outlet for gas flow leaving the cleaning chamber, the inlet and outlet being arranged such that the airflow is forced to pass through at least a part of the filter when inserted, the filter cleaning device further comprising a mechanical agitation arrangement operable, in one mode of operation, to generate a linear oscillation along an axis of the filter when inserted and, in another mode of operation, to rotate the filter about an axis of rotation.

摘要: A communications apparatus and method is provided to reliably protect communication systems, such as mobile phone systems, from unauthorized use, as well as to make the interception of wireless communication more difficult. Specifically, the static wireless phone number or other similar identifiers are not used for identification and authorization during communication between the mobile unit and a base station. Instead, a set of private identifiers is determined and is known only to the phone company and the base stations controlling the mobile phone calls. These private identifiers allow dynamic and continual updating of the mobile phone and base station directories with current valid identifiers that are used for communication between the devices.
