The motor control method comprises a vehicle-turning information acquisition step (S1, S2) of acquiring information about a turning movement of the vehicle (1), a vehicle-turning determination step (S5, S9, S14, S18) of determining whether the vehicle (1) is in a non-straight-ahead traveling state, based on the information acquired in the vehicle-turning information acquisition step, and a shift step (S6, S10, S15, S19) of, if the determination in the vehicle-turning determination step is made that the vehicle is in the non-straight-ahead traveling state, shifting the switching rotation speed (Nt) to a value different from that in a straight-ahead traveling state of the vehicle. The motor control method of the present invention can prevent a behavior of the vehicle (1) from becoming unstable when the output characteristic of the electric motor (5) for rotatably driving the driving wheel (16) is switched between the low-speed mode and the high-speed mode.
