摘要: A system includes a top drive system; a drilling riser running tool configured to be deployed by the top drive system; a fluid line configured to run from the top drive system to the drilling riser running tool; and a liquid filing system. The drilling riser running tool includes a tool head module configured to engage and hold a first riser joint at a top end such that with the top drive system above the drilling riser running tool, the first riser joint can be lowered towards a second riser joint being held near a drill floor. The first riser joint includes a central tube and a first auxiliary line. The liquid filling system is configured to provide liquid filling of the first auxiliary line via the fluid line after connection of the first and second riser joints and while the first and second riser joints are being run.

摘要: A method can include generating an initial number of simulation models of an environment, where each of the initial number of simulation models includes a corresponding input set of values for parameters; generating an additional number of simulation models of the environment, where each of the additional number of simulation models includes a corresponding input set of values for the parameters; performing simulations of physical phenomena using each of the initial number of simulation models and each of the additional number of simulation models, where each of the simulations generates a corresponding indexed output set of values; determining a series of indexed metrics using the indexed output sets; and, based on the series of indexed metrics, deciding to output the initial number of simulation models and the additional number of simulation models as an ensemble statistically representative of the environment or to generate one or more additional simulation models.

摘要: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a system including an implement (e.g., a steering tool, a drill bit) tetherable to an equipment string (e.g., a drill string), where the implement includes a steering mechanism to steer the equipment string with respect to a wall of a tubular passage (e.g., a borehole). The system can also include a bearing housing for the equipment string (e.g., connectable to a drill pipe of the drill string), where the bearing housing is rotationally coupled with the implement and rotated. The system can further include an actuation mechanism coupleable between the bearing housing and the steering mechanism to actuate the steering mechanism based upon a rotational orientation of the bearing housing with respect to the steering mechanism.

摘要: Methods are provided for characterizing organic matter in a geological rock formation that perform a Raman spectroscopy measurement on a rock sample of the formation to acquire a Raman spectrum of the rock sample. At least one processor is used to perform operations that involve i) analyzing the Raman spectrum of the rock sample to determine data characterizing at least one Raman spectral feature corresponding to the rock sample, ii) inputting the data characterizing the at least one Raman spectral feature corresponding to the rock sample into a computation model that determines a value of a property of organic matter in the rock sample given the data characterizing the at least one Raman spectral feature as input, and storing or outputting or displaying the value of the property of organic matter in the rock sample. In embodiments, the property of organic material in the rock sample can be a property of kerogen in the rock sample, or a property of asphaltenes or bitumen in the rock sample.

摘要: A system for operating a blowout preventer (BOP) includes a front piston positioned at least partially in a front chamber. The front chamber includes a front volume on a front side of the front piston, and a back volume on a back side of the front piston. The system also includes a back piston connected to the front piston. The back piston is positioned at least partially in a back chamber. The back chamber includes a front volume on a front side of the back piston, and a back volume on a back side of the back piston. The system also includes a first valve configured to permit fluid flow into the front chamber during a free closing stroke of the BOP. The system also includes a second valve configured to permit fluid flow between the front and back volumes of the back chamber during the free closing stroke.

摘要: A workflow and fluid analysis system to determine polar concentration and type of a reservoir fluid sample that is collected and analyzed in a downhole environment. Once collected this data can be fed into an advisory tool which can predict the probability of different types of issues that might be encountered in production of reservoir fluids from the reservoir. The workflow and fluid analysis system can also be employed in a surface-located laboratory tool for analysis of reservoir fluids.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for including obtaining raw surface data for present values of torque (TTD) generated by a top drive operably coupled with a drillstring, obtaining raw surface data for present values of rotational speed (ω) of the top drive corresponding to the TTD, obtaining inertia (JTD) of the top drive, and estimating torque TST of the drillstring based on the obtained TTD data, the obtained data, and the obtained JTD data. The estimated drillstring torque TST may be utilized to determine a surface torque oscillation performance index (STOPI).
