Polybranched organic/inorganic hybrid polymer and method for its manufacture. The hybrid polymer has the form of an inorganic core carrying organic branches. The core is first prepared by controlled hydrolysis and condensation of a silane with a structure: X—B—Si(—Y)3 in which X═NR1R2, while R1, R2 are chosen among hydrogen, alkyl and aryl, or R1, R2 are chosen among condensation products, addition products of one or more type of chemical substances such as acids, alcohols, phenols, amines, aldehydes or epoxides. B is a linkage group chosen among alkylene and arylene which may include oxygen, nitrogen, sulphur, phosphorous, silicon and boron. Y is chosen among hydrolyzable residues such as alkoxy, carboxyl, and halogen. The organic branches are developed by substituting N—H hydrogen atoms in the X—B group by reactions that are typical for primary and secondary amines, and/or by adding an acid that causes an addition to the N atoms of the X—B group in the core. Specific uses of the hybrid polymers are also indicated.

An aqueous ultrasound contact fluid includes a pharmaceutical grade triglyceride and a pharmaceutically acceptable emulsifier and the use of the ultrasound contact fluid in an intraoperative or interventional ultrasound imaging procedure. A method for intraoperative ultrasound imaging includes filling an aqueous ultrasound contact fluid into a body cavity. The aqueous ultrasound contact fluid is a composition comprising a pharmaceutical grade triglyceride and a pharmaceutically acceptable emulsifier and optionally a pharmaceutically acceptable humectant, and the triglyceride content is in the range of 8-240 g/1000 ml composition contact fluid and the amount of emulsifier is 0.4-18 g/1000 ml composition contact fluid, and optionally a humectant in the amount of 1.2-30 g/1000 ml. The method further includes obtaining an ultrasound image of a body region that comprises at least part of the body cavity filled with the aqueous ultrasound contact fluid. The aqueous ultrasound contact fluid reduces image artifacts associated with the body cavity.

This invention relates to a method for one dimensional simulation of multiphase fluid flow in pipelines enabling determination of pressure drop, fluid volume fractions, and heat and mass transfer coefficients in multiphase pipeline flows, wherein the method comprises providing real world values of the superficial velocities of each of the continuous fluid phases, the pipe diameter, and the inclination angle of the pipeline relative to the horizontal plane, providing initial values describing the flow geometry of the multiphase flow, where the initial values at least comprises the axial pressure gradient and the positions of the large scale interfaces separating the continuous fluid phases, employing a one-dimensional numerical model based on Eulerian formulated transport equations of the multiphase flow in the pipeline, solving the numerical model with the set of input values from step a) and b) to determine the flow parameters of the multiphase flow, and displaying one or more of the determined flow parameters.
