A high-strength composition iron powder is prepared by mixing an iron base powder with 0.5 to 3.0 mass % of an Fe—Mn powder having a particle diameter of 45 μm or less and a Mn content in the range of 60 to 90 mass %, 1.0 to 3.0 mass % of a Cu powder, 0.3 to 1.0 mass % of a graphite powder, and 0.4 to 1.2 mass % of a powder lubricant for die-forming while adjusting the ratio of the amount of Mn contained in the Fe—Mn powder to the amount of the Cu powder in the range of 0.1 to 1. The high-strength composition iron powder is press-formed and sintered at a temperature equal to or higher than the melting point of Cu to produce a high-strength sintered part having a tensile strength of 580 MPa or higher without using expensive alloying elements such as Ni and Mo.

The object of the present invention is to provide a method for the manufacture of an ester by transesterification, this method allowing the transesterification to proceed within a short reaction time and under a pressure of the order of normal pressure. It was found that transesterification proceeds when a starting material ester and an alcohol are brought into contact with a catalyst comprising (A) an amorphous zirconium oxide and (B) an oxide of Group III element, an oxide of Group V element, and/or an oxide of Group IV element other than zirconium and hafnium. In this method, it is preferred that the starting material ester in a liquid-phase state and the alcohol in a vapor-phase state be brought into contact with a solid acid catalyst comprising the above components (A) and (B), the starting material ester be an oil or fat, and the alcohol be methanol or ethanol. An oxide of titanium, silicon., germanium, or tin is the preferred oxide of Group IV element other than zirconium and hafnium.

An object is to provide a sulfated tin oxide catalyst with strong catalytic activity, and a method for preparation thereof. It was discovered that in the preparation of a solid acid catalyst containing tin, stronger solid acid properties than before could be achieved by preparing a support comprising a crystalline tin oxide, preferably metastannic acid, bringing this support into contact with organic acid ions, then bringing it into contact with a sulfate group-containing compound, and then calcining it. The solid acid catalyst of the present invention has a tin content of 30% or more by weight as metal in the catalyst, a sulfate group supported thereon and an argon adsorption heat of more than 30 kJ/mol, and is used in acid-catalytic reactions.

This invention provides a refuse incinerator capable of extinguishing smoke and odor of exhaust gas emitted from, combustion of the refuse just after incineration of the refuse is started. Exhaust gas outlets are provided in a furnace lid of the incineration furnace, an exhaust gas chamber is provided such that the furnace lid is used as part of a bottom wall thereof and an exhaust gas introduction pipe is provided to communicate between the exhaust gas chamber and a combustion chamber. Exhaust gas emitted into the exhaust gas chamber is introduced into the combustion chamber and burnt so as to extinguish the smoke and odor. Because the combustion chamber reaches high temperatures just after the incineration of the refuse is started, the smoke and odor of the exhaust gas are extinguished just after the incineration of the refuse is started.

A waste incineration machine capable of rendering a waste gas occurring during the combustion of waste smokeless and odorless. A heat insulating wall to which a first far infrared ray radiator is fixed is provided so as to surround a combustion furnace and a combustion chamber, and a heat exchanger so as to surround the heat insulating wall. An inner flue is formed between the heat insulating wall and combustion furnace, and an outer flue serving as a waste gas convection chamber between the heat insulating wall and heat exchanger. An upper part of a communication portion between the inner and outer flues is covered with a heat insulating member constituting a second far infrared ray radiator so as to subject the waste gas to secondary heating using far infrared rays, and thereby to render the waste gas smokeless and odorless. Preferably, the heat insulating wall is formed into a substantially cylindrical shape, and the heat exchanger into a rectangular box-shape open at the top and the bottom, whereby the volume of the outer flue is increased to thereby lengthen the time for circulating the waste gas by convection.
