摘要: Various embodiments facilitate the management of receiving device health. One embodiment provides a receiving device health manager that identifies receiving devices having degraded operational states, based on operational state data received from those receiving devices. The receiving device health manager may further determine and initiate corrective actions with respect to the identified receiving devices, based on information about customers associated with the receiving devices and/or about the receiving devices themselves. In one embodiment, a corrective action may include a customer service contact to schedule a receiving device repair visit by a technician. This abstract is provided to comply with rules requiring an abstract, and it is submitted with the intention that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

摘要: A method of detecting the presence of an insult in an absorbent article. An electrical property of the article is measured and either a proportional difference or a rate of change of the electrical property is determined. The proportional difference or the rate of change is compared to a difference indicator value and a rate indicator value, respectively, to determine the presence of an insult in the article.

摘要: A system for analyzing biological waste in an undergarment includes a mannequin with a simulated skin surface. An evacuation port is formed in the mannequin for eliminating a simulated human excretory product from the mannequin. A plurality of sensors is located about the evacuation port to sense the excretory product as it is eliminated through the evacuation port into an undergarment placed on the mannequin. A computer in communication with the sensors converts the sensed excretory product into a dispersion pattern for analysis.

摘要: Personal safety of one or more users may be enhanced through the use of RFID tags carried by the users. RFID detectors placed proximate to hazards may detect the approach of users by reading data stored on the RFID tags. Based on data including the skill levels of the users, one or more responses may be specified. User skill levels may be ascertained by identifying a user based on data from one or more RFID tags and consulting stored skill level data associated with the user; alternatively, one or more RFID tags carried by the user may include data specifying the skill level of the user. Responses can be based on multiple conditions, including data from other sensors.

摘要: Nanofiber electroprocessing apparatus comprising a conductive stylus having a 5 to 250 nm diameter tip; a collector spaced below the tip; a continuous supply of flowable polymer to the tip, and a power supply for creating a potential difference between the tip and the collector sufficient to produce a nanofiber. The conductive stylus may comprise an atomic force microscope (AFM) tip and may further be mounted within an AFM scanning holder having a mechanism for moving the tip. A method of electroprocessing a nanofiber comprises providing the conductive stylus, such as an AFM tip, providing a collector below the tip, supplying the tip with the flowable polymer, energizing the tip to create a potential difference between the tip and the collector, and thereby producing the nanofiber. Systems and methods for using nanofibers so created may be used for anticounterfeiting or object identification.

摘要: A Prime Broker's method for financing a Hedge Fund includes extending a Committed Loan Facility from which the Hedge Fund can borrow funds. The maximum amount of funds made available under the Committed Loan Facility to the Hedge Fund may be proportional to current loan balances maintained by the Hedge Fund. The Committed Loan Facility has a knock out mechanism that allows the Prime Broker facing a liquidity squeeze to suspend the Committed Loan Facility. The Prime Broker can activate the knock out mechanism upon occurrence of one of an enumerated list of events that affect its liquidity.

摘要: Absorbent articles incorporating a wetness sensor for indicating the presence of a body fluid are disclosed. In particular, the absorbent articles include at least two conductive elements that form an open circuit within the article. Each conductive element is connected to a conductive pad member that has sufficient surface area in order to facilitate connection to a signaling device. In accordance with the present disclosure, various attachment mechanisms are disclosed for attaching the pad members to a signaling device. In particular, although the absorbent articles are disposable, the signaling device is intended to be used with multiple absorbent articles. Therefore, a simple and efficient method of connecting the signaling device to the pad members provides various advantages. In one particular embodiment, for instance, the pad members comprise a conductive loop-type material that is attached to a corresponding conductive hook-type material on the signaling device.
