    摘要: A premises based multimedia communication system includes a source device that produces multimedia content, a rendering device that presents the multimedia content, and a premises communication network coupling the source device to the rendering device. The system determines a bit error rate of the premises communication network, transfers the multimedia content from the source device to the rendering device, and when the bit error rate exceeds a bit error rate threshold, the system at least partially disables link layer encryption of video frames of the multimedia content transfer. With the link layer operations at least partially disabled, the system can enable, at least partially, content layer encryption operations for the transfer of the multimedia content from the source device to the rendering device.

    摘要: Methods and systems for robust watermark insertion and extraction for digital set-top boxes are disclosed and may include descrambling, detecting watermarking messages in a received video signal utilizing a watermark message parser, and immediately watermarking the descrambled video signal utilizing an embedded CPU. The embedded CPU may utilize code that may be signed by an authorized key, encrypted externally to the chip, decrypted, and stored in memory in a region off-limits to other processors. The video signal may be watermarked in a decompressed domain. The enabling of the watermarking may be verified utilizing a watchdog timer. The descriptors corresponding to the watermarking may be stored in memory that may be inaccessible by the main CPU. The watermark may comprise unique identifier data specific to the chip and a time stamp, and may be encrypted utilizing an on-chip combinatorial function.

    摘要: An apparatus and a system are provided to proxy one or more media signals between at least one local client device and at least one remote client device. For instance, the apparatus can include a first network interface, a media dispatcher, and a second network interface. The first network interface can be configured to receive a single media signal of the one or more media signals from a local client device via a first communication network with an asymmetric communication protocol (e.g., Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification and Digital Subscriber Line). The media dispatcher can be configured to duplicate the single media signal into a plurality of duplicate media signals. Further, the second network interface can be configured to transmit the plurality of duplicate media signals to a plurality of remote client devices over a second communication network.

    摘要: Various methods and systems are provided for latency aware priority based decoding. In one embodiment, among others, a method includes providing coded frames of a first input stream to a multiple channel (multi-channel) decoder for decoding. A second input stream is obtained and a latency priority associated with the second input stream is determined. Coded frames from the first and second input streams are provided to the multi-channel decoder for decoding in an order based upon the latency priorities associated with the first and second input streams. In another embodiment, a multi-channel decoding system includes a multi-channel decoder configured to decode coded frames and a decoder input scheduler configured to provide coded frames from a plurality of input streams to the multi-channel decoder for decoding. The coded frames are provided to the multi-channel decoder in an order based at least in part upon latency priorities associated with the input streams.
