    Abstract: A pressure-sensitive adhesive tape includes a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer containing a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition, a bubble, and a hollow inorganic fine particle. When a pinhole region is present in the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer where the light that has been radiated onto one surface of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is transmitted through the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer up to the other surface thereof, and when the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape is bisected with a line intersecting the longitudinal direction of the tape at right angles, 60% or more of large pinhole regions each having a diameter of 1.5 mm or more are present in either of the two portions. Thereby, when the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape is to be wound, the tape can be easily wound or it can be suppressed that the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition may be forced out.

    Abstract: The release liner includes a release layer constituted of at least one polyolefin resin, wherein the release layer has surface irregularities. The surface irregularities of the release layer may be constituted of recesses and protrusions which are irregularly different in shape and have been disposed in irregular arrangement. The release layer preferably has a surface roughness Ra of 1-3 μm. As the polyolefin resin constituting the release layer can be used at least one polyolefin resin selected from the group consisting of polyethylenes, polypropylene, polybutenes, poly(4-methyl-1-pentene), and copolymers of ethylene with one or more α-olefins having 3-10 carbon atoms.

    Abstract: Provided is double-faced adhesive tape joining apparatus that allows accurate joining of a double-faced adhesive tape on a tape joining surface of a workpiece in a curved or bent shape with no damage on a surface of a separator joined to the double-faced adhesive tape and no floating of the separator. Specifically, a hand-operable base includes a tape guide for guiding the double-faced adhesive tape successively supplied, and a joining head for pressing against the joining surface of the workpiece the double-faced adhesive tape supplied to a front end of the base. The base and the joining head are configured as to rotate relatively about a support axis toward a longitudinal tape direction.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for joining two strips, where the two strips each include a laminate of a release liner and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, and the release liner extends from the corresponding pressure-sensitive adhesive layer in a longitudinal end region of at least one of the two strips. The method includes butting cross-sections of longitudinal ends of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layers of the two strips to bond the two pressure-sensitive adhesive layers; and superposing end regions of the release liners of the two strips and fixing the release liners so that surfaces of the release liners in portions at least 1 mm long inward from the longitudinal ends are not in contact with surfaces of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layers. This method gives a continuous strip from which the release liner can be smoothly removed without “binding” even at the joint.
