Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a non real-time broadcast receiving system. The system includes: a non real-time service decoder dividing received non real-time service content into a transmission block according to a protocol; a service content manager monitoring whether the receive of the non real-time service content stops and acknowledging a schedule regarding whether a portion with errors in the non real-time service content is retransmitted; a memory storing a portion without errors in the non real-time service content; a file checker checking whether errors are produced during the receive of the non real-time service contents and determining whether the portion with errors in the non real-time service content is retransmitted; a retransmission request signal generator generating a retransmission request signal; a return channel transmitter transmitting the retransmission request signal; and a return channel receiver receiving data corresponding the portion with error.
Abstract:
Provided is a method and apparatus for encoding and decoding multi-view video data. The encoding method includes: decomposing each view image of the multi-view video into an overlapped region and a non-overlapped region, the overlapped region being overlapped with other view image and the non-overlapped region not being overlapped with other view image; generating a stitched image by combining the non-overlapped region of each view image and a middle view image; encoding the stitched image using a first encoding algorithm; and encoding the overlapped region of each view image, using a second encoding algorithm. Further, the decomposing step includes the steps of estimating disparity information for each view image, based on a predetermined view image; and decomposing each view image into said overlapped region and said non-overlapped region using the estimated disparity information.
Abstract:
A method for installing different security clients for channels in a terminal in a conditional access system includes: searching one or more channels searchable in the terminal; requesting, for respective searched channels, security clients necessary for receiving pay programs to be transmitted through the searched channels, to a broadcasting station which takes charge of the searched channels; and downloading and installing, for respective searched channels, the requested security clients from the broadcasting station.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a stereoscopic content service system and method, and more particularly to a stereoscopic content service system and method which defines a Scene Descriptor (SD) including information required for stereoscopic contents, displays the stereoscopic contents based on the information of the defined SD, and thereby may perform a two-dimension (2D)/three-dimension (3D) display conversion through user interaction and display a stereoscopic text based on information about a left and right text and disparity information.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing 3D still image service in a specific time interval during audio-visual service of digital broadcast are provided. The method includes receiving a reference image and a 3D supplement image, which construct a 3D still image, through a data channel or a video channel together with a 2D image; restoring the reference image and the 3D supplement image to the 3D still image; and displaying the 3D still image in a specific interval during digital audio-visual broadcast using the 2D image according to display information which includes a play time and a play mode.
Abstract:
Modulating method and apparatus in a broadcasting and communication system are provided. The modulating apparatus includes: a first quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) modulating unit QPSK-modulating first data including in-phase (I) data and quadrature (Q) data to generate a first signal; a phase rotating unit rotating a phase of the first signal by θ to generate a phase rotated signal; a second QPSK modulating unit QPSK-modulating second data different from the first data and including I′ data and Q′ data to generate a second signal; and a layer modulating unit modulating the phase rotated signal and the second signal to output a final signal.
Abstract:
A method of verifying a validity of a Secure Micro (SM) is provided. The method of verifying a validity of an SM, the method including: storing and maintaining a validity verification message used to verify the validity of the SM, the validity verification message being generated by a Trusted Authority (TA) based on unique information of the SM, and the SM and the TA sharing the unique information of the SM; and verifying the validity of the SM using the validity verification message and the unique information shared by the SM, when an SM client is executed.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a mutual authentication method and apparatus in a CAS including a headend system and DCAS host. In particular, example embodiments relate to a mutual authentication method and apparatus in DCAS, wherein the mutual authentication is performed between an authentication server of the headend system and an SM of a DCAS host, and then CAS software is downloaded to the SM. According to the example embodiments, there is provided a mutual authentication protocol between the authentication server of the headend and the SM of the DCAS host in a cable network, and also provided a mutual authentication method and apparatus in the DCAS where a substantial authentication based on a hardware, such as a smart card or a cable card, is not needed.
Abstract:
