    摘要： A composite box structure mounted on and attached to a railway car underframe to form a temperature controlled railway car. The composite box structure defined in part by an exterior metal surface, interior side stakes and at least one layer of fiber reinforced material attached to the side stakes. Insulating material may be disposed between the side stakes, the exterior metal surface and the at least one fiber reinforced layer of fiber reinforced material. The insulating materials provide resistance to heat transfer between the interior and the exterior of the composite box structure. A primary floor assembly and a secondary floor assembly may be mounted on the railway car underframe.

    摘要： A real time three dimensional ultrasound imaging probe apparatus is configured to be placed inside a body. The apparatus comprises an elongated body having proximal and distal ends with an ultrasonic transducer phased array connected to and positioned on the distal end of the elongated body. The ultrasonic transducer phased array is positioned to emit and receive ultrasonic energy for volumetric forward scanning from the distal end of the elongated body. The ultrasonic transducer phased array includes a plurality of sites occupied by ultrasonic transducer elements. At least one ultrasonic transducer element is absent from at least one of the sites, thereby defining an interstitial site. A tool is positioned at the interstitial site. In particular, the tool can be a fiber optic lead, a suction tool, a guide wire, an electrophysiological electrode, or an ablation electrode. Related systems are also discussed.

    摘要： A stalk operated switch assembly having a stalk or lever end-mounted on a housing includes a button on the free end which is user rotatable for effecting rotation of a cam within the housing. The housing includes a plurality of capacitive switches aligned thereon. Each switch is made by applying alternate layers of conductive and dielectric ink and curing to form individual pairs of spaced capacitive plates. A conductive elastomer pad is disposed over each pair of plates and compressed against the plates by an individual actuator for each pad. The individual actuators are moved by one of plural concentric cam tracks formed on the rotor. The stalk type rotary multiple capacitive switching assembly has application for automotive windshield wiper delay circuit control.

    摘要： A variable speed trigger switch particularly adapted for use with electric power tools such as drills. The trigger switch features clam shell construction and a single vertically disposed circuit board thereby facilitating assembly and resulting in a low cost and compact unit. Wire connections are kept to a minimum through use of the circuit board in accordance with this invention having power contact resistance and wire terminal connectors formed directly on the board. The trigger switch includes a locking feature enabling the trigger switch to be locked at a desired position and further provides an adjustable detent which can be felt by the user during trigger retraction. The electronics package of the trigger switch employs an electronic motor speed control circuit which provides a combination of open loop and closed loop motor control.

    摘要： An acoustic imaging system capable of producing C-mode images or orthoscopic projection images of a three-dimensional volume at significantly increased speeds of operation is described. For each acoustic pulse transmitted by a piezoelectric transducer array an electronic parallel processing system produces several unique image points whose locations in the image correspond to the Cartesian coordinates of the positions of receiving transducers. While range information is not directly displayed, range discrimination can be realized by means of an optional range dependent gain control or an optional color display in which range discrimination occurs through visual discrimination of differing hues.
