Abstract:
An image pickup apparatus capable of outputting one of successive pictures that is picked up at a desired timing. When the operator of the apparatus selects a continuous shoot mode, sets a mode dial at a “Pre (prior)/Post (posterior)” position, and then presses a release button to a half-stroke position, the apparatus picks up a desired scene at preselected intervals. Up to nine latest frames of image data are written to a main memory while being sequentially updated. Subsequently, when the operator presses the release button to a full-stroke position, up to five additional latest frames of image data are written to the main memory. The image data stored in the main memory are read out and transformed to display data. The display data appear on an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panel in a multiframe format. When the operator, watching pictures appearing on the LCD panel, selects desired one of the pictures by operating preselected switches arranged on an operation panel, the image data representative of the above picture is recorded in an external memory removably mounted to the apparatus.
Abstract:
Projectors display a movie of a tourist resort, which is a background image, on screens, and video cameras take video by overlapping a subject walking on a treadmill with the background image. Therefore, the subject can be naturally combined in the background image, and also can enjoy a virtual experience such as strolling at the tourist resort during the video taking.

Abstract:
A camera is provided in which an electronically picked up image is exposed on a silver halide roll film and higher degree of freedom in print size and the cost down of the additional printing can be attained. An image-pickup signal outputted from a CCD is converted into image data through a given signal processing, and it is stored in a main memory or an external memory. A CPU drives and controls a line head of an optical printer based on the inputted image data, and it generates by exposure an image on a photographic film. A panorama picture or the like can be recorded with an arbitrary length in the longitudinal direction of the photographic film. Furthermore, by using the line head, additional information such as the date and time of photographing or the conditions of photographing is recorded in an area between frames of the photographic film. At this moment, the distance between frames is changed according to the amount of the additional information to be written in. The CPU of the camera keeps track of the remaining film length of the photographic film, and it performs the control of rewinding the film in the case where the remaining film length is shorter than a given length.
Abstract:
An optical printer records a color image by exposing color instant photo film extending two-dimensionally in a main scan direction and a sub scan direction. The optical printer includes a printing head, which includes a white color light-emitting element and a color separation filter unit. The color separation filter unit is disposed in a light path of white-color light from the light-emitting element, for color separation of the white-color light. The color separation filter unit has a tubular shape, has a central axis extending substantially parallel with the main scan direction, and is rotatable about the central axis. The white-color light travels through an entrance position along the light path into the color separation filter unit, out of which the light travels through an exit position along the light path. The color separation filter unit includes three color filters, arranged about the central axis, having selectivity of a wavelength, for converting the white-color light into printing light of respectively single colors. The three color filters are so disposed that a single one thereof is in the entrance position or the exit position in a manner irrespective of a rotation position with reference to the central axis. Three transparent plates are arranged alternately with the three color filters.
Abstract:
A thermal printer includes a thermal printing head in an image forming section, which prints an image on one of first and second surfaces of a recording sheet oriented downwards. Feeder rollers feed the recording sheet to the image forming section after the recording sheet is set in a sheet supply slot. The printer includes at least one first memory for storing first image data of an image for being printed on the first surface, and second image data of an image for being printed on the second surface. The first or second image data are read from the first memory, and input to the image forming section. A second memory stores information of discrimination bar code adapted for designating the second image data associated with the first image data according to common assignment to the recording sheet. The information of the discrimination bar code is read from the second memory at a time of printing with the first image data to the first surface, and is printed on the first surface by the image forming section. A reading CCD reads the discrimination bar code from the first surface at a time of printing to the second surface. The second image data is specified according to the discrimination bar code, read from the first memory, and input to the image forming section.
Abstract:
A ray applying device as a fixer applies ultraviolet or near ultraviolet rays to a recording surface of a thermosensitive recording sheet. The recording surface is extended two-dimensionally in main and sub scan directions. A plasma display panel extends in the main scan direction, for emitting the ultraviolet or near ultraviolet rays.
Abstract:
A thermal transfer material includes a support. A release layer is overlaid on the support. A coloring transfer layer is overlaid on the release layer, has thermoplasticity, and is colorable by being exposed and then pressurized. In a printer for use with the thermal transfer material, an image is formed by exposing the coloring transfer layer. The coloring transfer layer is placed on image receiving material after the image is formed. The thermal transfer material is heated and pressurized while the coloring transfer layer is placed on, so as to color the image and transfer the coloring transfer layer to the image receiving material.
Abstract:
Image data representing an image to be printed is captured, and a cutting pattern for cutting the outer form of an image printed on recording paper is selected from a plurality of different cutting patterns. In accordance with the captured image data, one or more images are printed on the recording paper in sizes and layout proper for the selected cutting pattern. Then, the outer forms of one or more images are cut on the recording paper in the selected cutting pattern. This eliminates the necessity of entering the size and layout of the image to be printed on the recording paper and editing a cutting method. Moreover, one or more images can be printed on the recording paper in a desired size and layout, and the outer forms of one or more images are cut on the recording paper in a desired cutting pattern.
Abstract:
Circularly polarized light caused to be incident on a film surface is converted into three light beams by optical flats to obtain electrical signals corresponding to the intensities of the respective light beams. Two ellipsometric parameters .psi. and .DELTA. are claculated from these three electrical signals.
