摘要: A method for making calcium phosphate particles, the method including compressively pulverizing a molded body containing, as a principal component, a calcium phosphate material with a plurality of parallel extending needlelike projections. The molded body contains a plurality of void holes oriented in one direction and the pulverizing is carried out by moving the needlelike projections in a direction of protrusion, which is aligned with the one direction. Each needlelike projection has a diameter within a range of 1.0 to 2.0 mm and a number the needlelike projections per unitary surface area is within a range of 5 to 35 per cm2.

摘要: To provide a mold assembly for molding a contact lens having an excellent optical performance, which is accomplished by suppressing the axial misalignment brought about by the relative displacement between the male and female molds during the molding operation, the mold assembly has a lens molding cavity (30) defined therein when the male and female molds (1, 2) are joined together in an axial direction. A pair of mating faces (12, 22) are defined in the male and female molds (1, 2) at locations in the vicinity of outer peripheral edges of molding surface areas (11, 21) in the male and female molds (1, 2), respectively. Each face being in the form of an annular face lying substantially parallel to the axial direction. A pair of abutment faces (13, 23) are positioned radially outwardly of the mating faces (12, 22) and are, when the male and female molds (1, 2) are joined together, operable to position the male and female molds (1, 2) relative to each other in the axial direction.

摘要: Ocular lens materials is made from copolymers prepared by polymerizing a monomer mixture containing: (A) an N-vinyllactam; (B) a fluorine-containing unsaturated monomer; (C) a hydrophilic (meth)acrylamide; (D) a crosslinking agent having at least 2 (meth)acryloyloxy groups; and (E) a dicarboxylic acid divinyl ester. These ocular lens materials and ocular lenses causing no elution and have a high water-retaining capability, oxygen permeability, are excellent in transparency, resistance to deposition, mechanical strength, flexibility, safety, durability, correction of visual acuity, and comfort during wear.
