摘要: A plastic window panel for an automotive vehicle comprises a plastic panel of a transparent noncrystalline organic high polymer. Silica particulate is dispersed in the plastic panel and has a particle size not larger than wavelengths of visible light. The plastic window panel is produced by one of a first method and a second method. The first method comprises (a) providing a first solvent in which the silica particulate having the particle size not larger than wavelengths of visible light is dispersed, and a second solvent in which the transparent noncrystalline organic high polymer is dissolved; (b) mixing the first solvent and the second solvent to obtain a resin composition; and (c) molding the resin composition under heating. The second method comprises (a) providing the silica particulate having the particle size not larger than wavelengths of visible light; (b) mixing the silica particulate into the organic high polymer which is in a process of formation of the organic high polymer, to obtain a resin composition; and (c) molding the resin composition under heating.

摘要: The invention relates to a hydrophilic article having (a) a substrate; and (b) a hydrophilic film formed on the substrate. This film has a hydrophilic outermost layer containing (1) a titania; (2) an amorphous oxide in an amount of from 5 to 25 wt % based on the total weight of the outermost layer; and (3) silica particles having a particle diameter of from 3 to 20 nm. A combination of the titania and the amorphous oxide constitutes the hydrophilic outermost layer's matrix phase (continuous phase), and the silica particles constitute the disperse phase distributed over the matrix phase. The hydrophilic outermost layer is superior in abrasion resistance and duration of hydrophilicity. The hydrophilic article is produced by a method including sequential steps of (a) providing a sol mixture comprising a first sol containing a precursor of the titania, a second sol containing a precursor of the amorphous oxide, and a silica colloidal solution containing the silica particles; (b) applying the sol mixture to the substrate, thereby to form thereon a precursory film; and (c) baking the precursory film into the outermost layer.

摘要: A crystalline unsaturated polyester, which is a scarcely tacky solid at room temperature but at a temperature somewhat above its softening temperature assumes a fluid state with a viscosity below about 500 poises, is used as a principal component of a binder for the preparation of a resin coated casting sand for use in shell mold casting of, particularly, aluminum alloys with an aim of facilitating the disintegration of molds and cores. The binder is mixed with a conventional foundry sand at an appropriately elevated temperature in the presence of an organic peroxide as a polymerization catalyst. The binder may preferably contain a cross-linking agent such as diallyl phthalate and optionally a silane as a coupling agent and/or a cross-linking accelerator.

摘要: A head feeding apparatus for recording information signals in a disk shaped recording medium such as an optical disk or reading the signals recorded therein comprises a guide mechanism and a moving mechanism. The guide mechanism guides the head in a direction of the diameter of the disk shaped recording medium. The moving mechanism moves the head along the guide mechanism. The moving mechanism comprises a driving source, a rack and a transmission mechanism. The rack is moved together with the head. The transmission mechanism meshes with the rack to transmit a driving force from the driving source. The rack is provided with elastic deformation sections for urging the gear section of the rack toward the transmission mechanism.

摘要: Resin coated foundry sand, using a binder composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a crystalline unsaturated polyester and, as a cross-linking agent, 5 to 30 parts by weight of diallyl phthalate monomer. The binder is a scarcely tacky solid at room temperature but at a temperature somewhat above its softening temperature assumes a fluid state and exhibits a viscosity below about 500 poises. The resin coated sand is prepared by mixing heated foundry sand with the binder composition, with the addition of an organic peroxide which serves as a curing catalyst. Moulds and cores formed of this resin coated sand are high in initial strength but, nevertheless, can easily be disintegrated at the shake-off stage even when a relatively low pouring temperature is employed as in an aluminum alloy casting process.

摘要: The invention relates to a hydrophilic film formed on a substrate. This film has a hydrophilic outermost layer having a matrix phase containing titania and a disperse phase constituted of at least one compound of silica and alumina. The matrix phase may further contain an amorphous metal oxide. With this, the outermost layer becomes superior in abrasion resistance. The at least one compound of the disperse phase may be a non-spherical colloidal silica. With this, the outermost layer becomes substantially improved in scratch resistance. The outermost layer is formed on the substrate by a method including sequential steps of (a) providing a sol mixture including a first sol containing a precursor of the titania and a second sol containing the at least one compound; (b) coating the substrate with the sol mixture, thereby to form thereon a precursory film; and (c) baking the precursory film into the outermost layer.
