摘要： An ink-jet printer includes a rotary drum 10 for rotating at a constant speed, a sheet loader for loading a paper sheet onto the rotary drum 10, a sheet holding system 20 for holding the paper sheet loaded by the sheet loader on the rotary drum 10, and a print head 200 for printing an image by ejecting ink onto the paper sheet which is held on the rotary drum 10 by the sheet holding system 20 and rotated together with the rotary drum 10. In particular, the sheet loader has a pair of loading rollers 91 and 92 for feeding the paper sheet while pinching the paper sheet, and a roller moving mechanism 28 for separating the loading roller 91 from the other loading roller 92 to release the paper sheet after the leading edge of the paper sheet has been held on the rotary drum 10.

摘要： An ink-jet printer includes an ink tank for storing ink, a print head for ejecting the ink supplied from the ink tank to print an image on a paper sheet moved relatively to the print head, an ink-amount sensing section for sensing that ink remaining in the ink tank is decreased to less than a reference amount to generate a sense signal, and a print control circuit for driving the print head such that images are printed on the number of paper sheets ordered by each print job except in a state where the sense signal is generated by the ink-amount sensing section. In particular, the print control circuit is arranged to continue a print job being executed at a time when the sense signal is generated by the ink-amount sensing section.

摘要： An ink-jet printer with an ink nozzle purging device includes a valve equipped in a portion of an ink supply pipe extending from a pump to a printing head unit, and an ink urging unit which has a chamber equipped in a portion of the pipe between the valve and the pump, and further has an elastic member disposed in the chamber. The member accumulates an elastic force by a pressure of the ink entering into the chamber while the pump is operated with the valve being closed, and then urges the ink toward the printing head unit when the valve is opened to release the elastic force accumulated in the elastic member.

摘要： An apparatus for holding a printing medium on a rotary drum, includes a rotary drum, a suction device, a medium holding mechanism and a medium removing device. The drum has a recess at its outer surface to extend along its rotation center line and rotates at a predetermined speed. A region of the outer surface, which is adjacent to a rearward end of the recess along the rotation direction, is smaller in the diameter than the remaining of the outer surface. The suction device holds by suction the medium onto the outer surface. The holding mechanism has a hook in the recess and selectively drives the hook between close and open positions. At the close position, the hook is placed over the adjacent region while being prevented from radially outwardly projecting from the remaining of the outer surface, and at the open position it is distanced from the adjacent region. When the medium arrives at the adjacent region, its leading end is held by the hook shifted from the open position to the close position and cooperated with the adjacent region and, when the drum rotates a specific number, the hook is returned to the open position. The removing device removes the medium from the outer surface when the drum rotates the specific number and the hook has moved from the close position to the open position.

摘要： The ink-jet printer includes four ink tanks for detachably supporting four ink reserve bottles filled with inks of different colors and, for storing the inks respectively supplied from the ink reserve bottles, a print head having four nozzle units and connected to receive inks supplied from the ink tanks for printing a color image by ejecting the inks from the nozzle units onto a paper sheet, a lock system for locking each ink reserve bottle attached to a corresponding ink tank to prevent detachment from the corresponding ink tank, and a lock system controller for controlling the lock system. The lock system controller includes a detecting section for detecting which one of the ink reserve bottles has been locked by the lock system, and an unlock section for causing the lock system to unlock any of the ink reserve bottles to be detached from the ink tanks for replacement, in a manner such that ink reserve bottles other than the unlocked one are inhibited from being unlocked until the unlocked ink reserve bottle is replaced by a new ink reserve bottle and the new ink reserve bottle is detected to be locked by the lock system.
