    Abstract: According to some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device for performing early measurement comprises receiving an early measurement configuration for performing idle/inactive mode measurements. The early measurement configuration comprising a measurement carrier list. Each entry of the measurement carrier list comprises a carrier frequency and one or more cell identifiers associated with the carrier frequency for which the wireless device is to perform idle/inactive mode measurements. The early measurement configuration further comprises a validity area list, separate from the measurement carrier list. Each entry of the validity area list comprises a carrier frequency and zero or more cell identifiers associated with the carrier frequency for which the wireless device is supposed to perform idle/inactive mode measurements. The method further comprises reselecting to a new cell and determining whether to perform idle/inactive mode measurements while camping on the new cell based on the validity area list.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for energy detection in unlicensed spectrum. In one embodiment, a method implemented in a radio node includes determining a maximum channel occupancy time (MCOT) value; and listen-before-talk (LBT) parameter settings, the MCOT value and/or the LBT parameter settings for one or more LBT parameters depending on an energy detection (ED) threshold value used to access a channel in an unlicensed spectrum; and performing a LBT procedure to gain access to the channel and a transmission on the channel according to the LBT parameter settings and the MCOT value. In one embodiment, a method in a network node includes configuring a wireless device with a MCOT value and LBT parameter settings, the MCOT value and/or LBT parameter settings depending on an ED threshold value used at the wireless device to access the channel.

In embodiments in which the indication (128) is received in the measurement reporting configuration information element (127), for instance, the wireless device (111) may add a reporting configuration indicated by that information element to a list of reporting configurations at the wireless device (111), e.g., as opposed to updating an existing reporting configuration. Regardless, the wireless device (111) may also be configured to report a CGI for the cell indicated by the received indication (128).

    Abstract: There is provided a method performed by a session management function (SMF) node of a network for establishing a PFCP session. A plurality of service functions (SFs) are selected (102) to connect in a service function chain for handling the PFCP session. Each of the plurality of SFs is capable of activating a feature of the PFCP session and is supported by a user plane function (UPF) node. The selection is based on a load of each of the plurality of SFs. For each UPF node that supports one or more of the selected plurality of SFs, transmission of a request is initiated (104) to the UPF node to establish the PFCP session with the UPF node. The request comprises an indication of the one or more of the selected plurality of SFs that the UPF node supports.

    Abstract: A technique for dynamically classifying and re-classifying a data packet flow on a user plane of a core network domain is described. According to an apparatus aspect, a device is provided for dynamically classifying and re-classifying a data packet flow, wherein the device is configured to classify and re-classify the data packet flow using packet detection rules (PDRs) and wherein each PDR is associated with at least one action to be applied to data packets matching the PDR. The device is configured to receive one or more first data packets of a data packet flow, to determine that the received one or more first data packets match a first PDR to classify the data packet flow according to the first PDR, and to trigger application of at least one first action associated with the first PDR to the one or more first packets. The device is further configured to receive one or more second data packets of the data packet flow, wherein the one or more second data packets are received after the one or more first data packets, to determine that the received one or more second data packets match a second PDR to re-classify the data packet flow according to the second PDR, wherein the second PDR is different from the first PDR, and to trigger application of at least one second action associated with the second PDR to the one or more second data packets.

    Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for an optimized radiation pattern for an indoor ceiling and/or wall mounted radio unit for distributed antenna systems/radio dot systems (DAS/RDS) are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method includes obtaining beam forming weights for generating a shaped radiation pattern that provides a same effective isotropic power radiated (EIPR) at multiple locations inside a target cell, and applying the obtained beam forming weights to signals directed to an array of antenna elements of the radio interface to generate the shaped radiation pattern.
