    摘要: L-shaped terminal fittings (11A, 11B) have terminal connecting portions (12) at one end. The terminal connecting portions (12) are pressed into upper and lower stages of a housing (20) for connection with a mating terminal. Narrower board connecting portions (13) are at the opposite ends of the terminal fittings (11A, 11B) and have mounting portions (16) to be soldered to a PCB (40). The terminal connecting portions (12) of the upper stage align respectively with the terminal connecting portions (12) of the lower stage. However, the board connecting portions (13) in the upper and lower stages are offset laterally with respect to longitudinal axes (X) of the terminal connecting portions (12). Additionally, all of the board connecting portions (13) of the terminal fittings (11A, 11B) are arrayed in one row equally spaced from the housing (20).

    摘要: A female housing (40) has a lock arm (40) with an arm main body (43) that cantilevers back from the front of the female housing (40). A lock (46) is formed on the arm main body (43). An unlocking portion (44) is at the rear end of the arm main body (43) and extends normal to the arm main body (43). Arm portions (55) project obliquely downward from the opposite sides of the unlocking portion (44), and are coupled to protection walls (52) to sandwich the unlocking portion (44). Two restricting walls (55) project from the upper ends of the protection walls (52) at positions behind the arm portions (50) and higher than the arm portions (50) and face each other. The restricting walls (55) prevent an operator's finger from touching the arm portions (50).

    摘要: Male connectors (10) are accommodated in an ECU casing C, and connect with female connectors (20) connected with ends of wires (Wa). The male and female connectors (10, 20) are locked together by engaging a lock (45) on a lock arm (40) of the female connector (20) with an engaging portion (47) of the male connector (10). The fracture strength of the engaging portion (47) of the male connector (10) exceeds the fracture strength of the lock (45) of the female connector (20). Thus, an excessive force acting to separate the locked connectors (10, 20) will fracture the lock (45) of the female connector (20) first to cancel the locked state. This avoids fracturing the engaging portion (47) of the male connector (10).

The holding arms (35A) for full locking extend in the inserting direction of the retainer (30) from their supported ends to their free ends, whereas the holding arms (35B) for partial locking extend in a direction opposite from the inserting direction of the retainer (30) from their supported ends to their free ends.
