摘要: The present disclosure is directed towards an electronic device, method of using a device, and a method of making a device for estimating the nutritional status in an individual of any age or weight. The electronic device measures the circumference of a body part of an individual and determines a standard score value for the individual based upon a designated age and gender to estimate the nutritional status of the individual. The method includes measuring the circumference of a body part of an individual using the electronic device and determining a standard score value from the device to estimate the nutritional status of the individual.

摘要: The method for genome analysis translates the clinical findings in the patient into a comprehensive test order for genes that can be causative of the patient's illness, delimits analysis of variants identified in the patient's genome to those that are “on target” for the patient's illness, and provides clinical annotation of the likely causative variants for inclusion in a variant warehouse that is updated as a result of each sample that is analyzed and that, in turn, provides a source of additional annotation for variants. The method uses a genome sequence having the steps of entering at least one clinical feature of a patient by an end-user, assigning a weighted value to the term based on the probability of the presence of the term, mapping the term to at least one disease by accessing a knowledge base containing a plurality of data sets, wherein the data sets are made up of associations between (i) clinical features and diseases, (ii) diseases and genes, (iii) genes and genetic variants, and (iv) diseases and gene variants, assigning a truth value to each of the mapped terms based on the associated data sets and the weighted value, to provide a list of results of possible diagnoses prioritized based on the truth values, with continuous adjustment of the weightings of associations in the knowledge base based on updating of each discovered diagnosis and attendant clinical features, genes and gene variants. This method can be performed in fifty hours or twenty-four hours or less.

摘要: A method of differentiating cells into CK19-positive cells capable of producing hair follicle-like and hair structure-like can include: providing a tissue scaffold; seeding cells into the scaffold, the cells being capable of differentiation; incubating the scaffold having the cells in a cell growth media; and incubating the scaffold having the cells in an osteogenic differentiation medium sufficient for CK19-positive cells to be generated in the scaffold. The tissue scaffold can be a decellularized Whartons' jelly matrix. The cell growth media excludes osteogenic differentiation components: dexamethasone, β-glycerophosphate, 1α,25-hydroxyvitamin D3, and ascorbic acid 2-phosphate. The osteogenic differentiation medium includes the osteogenic differentiation components. The cells can be mesenchymal cells, such as WJMSCs.

摘要: Cell therapy compositions comprising engineered human regulatory T cells (eTregs) characterized by ectopic overexpression of FOXP3 and Helios protein, produced via introduction of separate nucleic acid constructs respectively encoding FOXP3 and Helios (FOXP3+Helios+eTregs). Cell therapy compositions comprising mixed populations of CD4+ and CD8+ Treg cells each with ectopic overexpression of FOXP3 and Helios. Methods of making and use the same for therapies involving inflammation and/or a disorder of the immune system.

摘要: The present invention provides subtelomeric probes and primer pairs which can be used to develop subtelomeric probes as well as methods of making and using the same. Advantageously, the probes are located in close proximity to the telomere of a chromosome and are generally much smaller than currently available probes.
