摘要： A display unit includes an organic electroluminescence device having light-emitting regions, and a liquid crystal panel having pixels. The liquid crystal panel is spaced apart from the organic electroluminescence device so that the light of each light-emitting region illuminates at least two pixels. An image signal output section provides data of a first image to first pixels of the liquid crystal panel and provides data of a second image to second pixels of the liquid crystal panel. The image signal output section switches the display of the first image and the display of the second image in synchronization with a switching of the emitting of the light-emitting region and non-emitting of another light-emitting region of the organic electroluminescence device by the light-emission control section.

摘要： A thin stereoscopic display which enables plural persons to simultaneously observe stereoscopic images includes a color liquid crystal plate for displaying stereo-pairs composed of left and right eye perspectives in time-interlaced manner, a monochrome liquid crystal TV display disposed behind the color liquid crystal plate for displaying binary and inverted binary images a right or left half of the face of each observer so as to be synchronized with the time-interlaced display of the color liquid crystal plate, and an arrayed convex lens disposed between the color liquid crystal plate and the monochrome liquid crystal TV display so as to focus the observers' optical images on the screen of the monochrome liquid crystal TV display in geometrical agreement with the observers' face images displayed thereby. The arrayed convex lens distributes light emitted from the binary and inverted binary images of the half of the face of each observer to the left and right eyes of each observer through the color liquid crystal plate, respectively, whereby the left and right eye perspectives of the stereo-pairs displayed by the liquid crystal plate reach the left and right eyes of each observer, respectively.

The apparatus for three-dimensionally displaying a planar image recorded on a polarizing film comprises a monochrome liquid crystal television screen which functions as a backlight source, a convex Fresnel lens for magnifying an image of the backlight source, an infrared illumination light source for illuminating a half of the face of an observer with infrared radiation, an infrared camera for capturing the illuminated image of the observer, and an interlaced-image synthesizing circuit which forms a binary-coded image obtained by the infrared television camera and its reversed image and interlaces the binary-coded image and reversed image to synthesize a signal.

摘要： An image display unit provided with an image focusing member for focusing an image of a point light source on a pupil of an observer as means for projecting images displayed on a transmission type image display plate, which is capable of following the movement of the observer with a simple construction. A point light source array 12 composed of a large number of point light sources 120 which are arranged dispersedly in a plane direction in an array is provided such that the point light source 120 to be focused on the pupil shifts to its adjacent point light source 120 even when the observer moves. The ratio of the interval between adjacent point light sources 120 to the distance from the point light source array 12 to an image focusing member 13 is determined to become equal to the ratio of the diameter of a pupil of a person to the distance from the image focusing member 13 to the image focusing position of the point light source 120, thereby preventing the existence of an observation disabling area while avoiding the viewing of superimposed images.
