Abstract: A system for externally augmented asset management is disclosed. According to one embodiment, information from a first reporting source about an asset is received. In addition, information from a second reporting source about the asset is also received. Information from a third reporting source about at least one environmental condition is also received. A database is then populated with the information from the first reporting source, the information from the second reporting source and the third reporting source such that information from the first reporting source, the information from the second reporting source and the third reporting source can be collected or accessed from the database.

Abstract: A center pivot irrigation system adapted for variable depth application of water under the corner sprinkler arm. The system includes a pivot sprinkler arm with a first set of nozzles, and a first set of control valves each provided on the pivot sprinkler arm upstream of a nozzle. The irrigation system includes a corner sprinkler arm pivotally coupled to an end of the pivot sprinkler arm, and the corner sprinkler arm includes a second set of spaced apart nozzles and a second set of control valves. The irrigation system includes a controller transmitting control signals to the first and second sets of control valves to open and close in a pattern that includes a valve pulsing pattern for the corner sprinkler arm, whereby input water is applied at a variable rate under the corner sprinkler arm to apply different depths to various user-defined zones.

Abstract: A first performance measure is determined of an existing data session between a mobile gateway and a cloud gateway via a first wireless carrier. Second performance measures of others of the wireless carriers are determined during the existing data session. Based on the first performance measure and the second performance measures, the existing data session is continued with the cloud gateway via a second of the wireless carriers.

Abstract: An omnidirectional lens is disclosed of the type which captures light from virtually all angles of incidence, and also emits light in all directions. Embodiments are specifically disclosed as a two-way lens that receives light beams from all directions of the compass and directs those light beams to a photosensor. The same two-way lens acts in a “beacon mode” to produce light beams from one or more LEDs, and to emit such light beams (again) in all directions of the compass. The emitted light beams can also be used to signal various functions as visible signals to users on a jobsite.

Abstract: A first process and a second process are executed concurrently by one or more hardware processors located in the cellular device and outside of a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) chipset embedded in the cellular device. The first process determines a first set of one or more position fixes based on extracted raw pseudorange information. The second process determines carrier phase smoothed pseudoranges based on carrier phase information and determines a second set of one or more position fixes based on the carrier phase smoothed pseudoranges. One or more of the first set of position fixes are provided to a user while a predetermined amount of carrier phase information is not available for performing carrier phase smoothing. One or more of the second set of position fixes are provided to the user while a predetermined amount of carrier phase information is available for performing carrier phase smoothing.

Abstract: Methods and systems for inspection, safety assurance, tracking, and/or as-built comparison use an imaging tool to acquire imaging data of a scene. The imaging data is processed to create a three-dimensional representation of the scene. Radio frequency (RF) data is received from an RF tag using an RF reader. The RF tag is associated with an object within the scene. The object in the three-dimensional representation of the scene is identified based on the RF data and compared to a model of the object.

Abstract: A system for assisting an operator in positioning an operating element of any of a plurality of tools at a desired location at a worksite, includes a plurality of fixed position video imaging devices located at known positions at the worksite. Each of the imaging devices has a known field of view. A memory stores a digital image and dimensions of each of the tools, as well as the desired locations at the worksite for operating the tools. A processor is responsive to the video devices for determining the tool being viewed, and determining the position and orientation of the tool and the operating element of said tool. A radio transmitter transmits this to a receiver with the tool operator.
