The system receives caller identification data and signaling system data from the call, compares the caller identification data to the signaling system data, and determines if the call has a false caller ID based on the comparison. The signaling system data may include signaling system 7 data. The system may also alert the intended recipient by modifying the properties of the call or by enacting a peripheral system to contact the intended recipient.

    摘要： A method and system of supporting abbreviated dialing between phones include determining dialing by a first phone of an abbreviated number associated with a second phone. The first phone is in a circuit-switched network associated with a Centrex system and the second phone is in an Internet Protocol (IP) packet-switched network disassociated from the Centrex system. The phones in the circuit-switched network are associated with the Centrex system. The Centrex system supports abbreviated dialing between phones associated with the Centrex system. A routing number for a phone call from the first phone to the second phone is determined as a function of the abbreviated number. The routing number includes IP addressing sufficient to support routing of the phone call through the packet-switched network to the second phone such as if both phones were associated with the Centrex system.

    摘要： A system and method are provided for blocking a telephone call from a calling party to a called party, the calling party associated with a calling party directory number, including a local-designated trunk group over which the incoming telephone call from the calling party is received. A service switching point is coupled with the local-designated trunk group, the service switching point receiving the telephone call, generating a query message including the calling party directory number, and sending the query message to a service control point. The service control point is coupled with the service switching point, receives the query message, and determines if the calling party is inter Local Access and Transport Area (interLATA) with respect to the service switching point. Where the calling party is determined to be interLATA, the service control point determines a screening indicator value, and generates a response message to the service switching point to block the telephone call received via the local-designated trunk group where the screening indicator value indicates that the telephone call is public telecommunications network provided.

    摘要： A method for a user to manage calls includes provisioning the user with mobile minutes for calls within the same provider and usage minutes for usage calls. Upon a call between the user and another user it is determined whether the users have the same provider. The call is a mobile call within the same provider if the users have the same provider and is a usage call if the users have different providers. The call is completed if the call is a mobile call within the same provider and if the user has unlimited mobile minutes. If the call is a mobile call within the same provider and if the user has limited mobile minutes and if the some of the mobile minutes remain, then the user is advised accordingly. The call is a usage call if no mobile minutes remain regardless if the call is a mobile call within the same provider. The user is advised accordingly if the call is a usage call.
