    摘要: Embodiment of the invention provide for compositions having at least one crosslinkable silyl group in each molecule. The crosslinkable silane-terminated polymer may include a reaction product of at least a polyol having a nominal functionality of at least 2 and a isocyanate capped hydrosilylated polymer. The isocyanate capped hydrosilylated polymer may include a reaction product of at least one isocyanate and a hydrosilylated polymer. The hydrosilylated polymer may include a reaction product of a the reaction of at least a) a polymer having at least one unsaturated group and at least one alcoholic hydroxyl group in each molecule and having a number average molecular weight of between about 100 and about 5000 and b) a compound having a hydrogen-silicon bond and a crosslinkable silyl group in each molecule.

    摘要: Embodiments of the invention relate to crosslinkable silyl group-containing polymers and methods of producing them. In one embodiment a method of producing a silyl polymer is provided. The method includes reacting at least one natural oil based polyol with at least one isocyanate to form at least one prepolymer having at least one NCO group. The at least one natural oil based polyol includes the reaction product of hydroxymethylated fatty acids or esters thereof and at least one polyol initiator. The prepolymer having at least one NCO group is reacted with at least one amino functional alkoxy silane to form the silyl polymer, such that the silyl polymer includes at least one crosslinkable silyl group, at least one urethane group, and at least one urea group in each molecule.

    摘要: A process for preparing polyurethane films is disclosed, comprising electrodepositing the film onto a substrate from a polyurethane dispersion. One advantage of the electrodeposition process of the present invention is that there is no need for an additional step to remove coagulants from the films, as with conventional coagulation processes. Another advantage is that in using electrodeposition, the amount of water that must be removed during a dewatering step is minimized. A third advantage is that the resulting film demonstrates much greater uniformity in thickness as compare to films prepared by conventional coagulation techniques. The present invention has applicability in, for example, medical applications.

    摘要: A copolymer-filled crosslinkable silane-terminated polymer having at least one crosslinkable silyl group in each molecule is provided. The copolymer-filled crosslinkable silane-terminated polymer is the reaction product of a copolymer-filled polyol and an isocyanate capped hydrosilylated polymer. The isocyanate capped hydrosilylated polymer is the reaction product of at least one isocyanate and a hydrosilylated polymer. The hydrosilylated polymer is the reaction product of a polymer having at least one unsaturated group and at least one alcoholic group in each molecule and a compound having a hydrogen-silicon bond and a crosslinkable silyl group in each molecule. The copolymer-filled crosslinkable silane-terminated polymers exhibit improved modulus and tensile strength properties while maintaining elongation properties.

    摘要: Moisture curable compositions including silylated polymers and methods for producing the same are provided. A two component moisture curable system for producing a cured or cross-linked silylated polymer having improved compression set properties is provided. The two component system comprises a first formulation and a second formulation. The first formulation comprises a silylated polymer, water, and filler and the second formulation comprises the silylated polymer, a curing catalyst comprising at least one Brønsted acid, and a moisture scavenger. The final cured formulation may have a compression set, determined by ASTM D395 or ISO 815-1, of less than 100%, and in some examples less than 50% and in some examples less than 15%. This demonstrated improvement in compression set not only allows the silylated polymers to be used in applications where cyclic loads are applied but also enhances product durability.

    摘要: A composition comprises (a) a binder component which comprises (1) 5 to 100 weight percent of at least one natural oil derived polyol having at least about 50 percent primary hydroxyl groups and (2) sufficient additional polyol different from a natural oil derived polyol to make 100 percent wherein the natural oil derived polyol has an average of from 1.5 to 3 hydroxyl groups per molecule and an equivalent weight of from 200 to 5000; and (b) a crosslinking component reactive with hydroxyl groups. Furthermore, a process for producing a coating, adhesive, binder or combination thereof on the surface of a substrate, comprises in any order: (a) admixing binder and crosslinking components of a composition to form an admixture, wherein a binder component comprises (1) 5 to 100 weight percent of at least one natural oil derived polyol having at least about 50 percent primary hydroxyl groups and (2) sufficient additional polyol different from a natural oil derived polyol to make 100 percent wherein the natural oil derived polyol has an average of from 1.5 to 3 hydroxyl groups per molecule and an equivalent weight of from 200 to 5000; and (b) applying a layer of said admixture on said surface. The invention includes coatings, adhesives, binders and combinations thereof prepared from any composition of the invention, substrates coated by the process of the invention or coated using a composition of the invention and articles, including laminates, comprising a coating, adhesive, binder or combination thereof of the invention.
