    摘要: A liquid crystal display and a dummy-loading device thereof are provided. The dummy-loading device is suitable for a liquid crystal display having a plurality of pixel bands. The liquid crystal display comprises an input signal line to receive image data, and a plurality of horizontal switches and a plurality of shift registers connected in series. The shift registers sequentially shift and output a video control signal for conducting the input signal lines and the pixel bands. A dummy-loading device is disposed in the liquid crystal display, comprising a dummy pixel band, a dummy shift register and a dummy horizontal switch on one side of the liquid crystal display, for providing the edge band compensation to resolve unbalanced imaging.

    摘要: A scan driving circuit and driving method for active matrix liquid crystal display is disclosed. The scan driving circuit comprises a switching circuit including a plurality of low-temperature poly-silicon MOS devices of same conductivity type formed on the liquid crystal display panel and a plurality of control signal input ports connected to the switching circuit, in which the number of the control signal input ports is less than that of the scan lines of the liquid crystal display panel, and the switching circuit is coupled between the scan lines and the control signal input ports. The driving method comprises providing a plurality of control signals consisted of sequential or back-and-forth pulses coupled to the control signal input ports from outside of the panel for operation of the switching circuit to drive the scan lines.

A current meter and voltage source are serially connected between a common line and power supply line shared by any pixel unit. Specific logic values are sequentially written to the pixel units via signal lines and the current readings corresponding the pixel units are taken by the current meter. Whether the pixel units are defective can be determined according to the current readings. The defective type of a pixel units can be determined according to the current reading corresponding to the defective pixel unit and the current readings corresponding the other perfect pixel units.

    摘要: The invention discloses an LCD with an ambient light sense function and its method. The method compraises the step of: coupling a capacitor to a source electrode of a thin film transistor; calculating a transmission time which required by a potential change from the reduction of electric charges; and finally, calculating an intensity of the ambient light according to the transmission time. The invention further discloses an ambient light sense circuit having a thin film transistor, a capacitor and a read-out switch. As the ambient light changes, a leakage current of the thin film transistor is changed accordingly, and the transmission time which required by the potential change is therefore changed. The read-out switch transmits said potential to a data read-out line in order to calculate the intensity of the ambient light from the transmission time. The LCD of this invention includes a plurality of capacitors, a plurality of read-out switches and a processing module.
