摘要： A liquid crystal display and a dummy-loading device thereof are provided. The dummy-loading device is suitable for a liquid crystal display having a plurality of pixel bands. The liquid crystal display comprises an input signal line to receive image data, and a plurality of horizontal switches and a plurality of shift registers connected in series. The shift registers sequentially shift and output a video control signal for conducting the input signal lines and the pixel bands. A dummy-loading device is disposed in the liquid crystal display, comprising a dummy pixel band, a dummy shift register and a dummy horizontal switch on one side of the liquid crystal display, for providing the edge band compensation to resolve unbalanced imaging.

摘要： A method of charging a liquid crystal display (LCD) device that includes providing a plurality of scan lines, providing a plurality of video lines formed orthogonal to the scan lines, providing a plurality of cells, each cell including a transistor and a capacitor coupled to the transistor, each of the cells being formed at an intersection of the scan lines and video lines, providing a periodic signal for writing video data into the LCD device, charging the plurality of cells having first-type transistors during a first half cycle of the periodic signal until a first voltage level of the periodic signal is reached, charging the plurality of cells having second-type transistors during a second half cycle of the periodic signal until a second voltage level of the periodic signal is reached, and discharging the plurality of cells to a predetermined voltage level.

摘要： A scan driving circuit and driving method for active matrix liquid crystal display is disclosed. The scan driving circuit comprises a switching circuit including a plurality of low-temperature poly-silicon MOS devices of same conductivity type formed on the liquid crystal display panel and a plurality of control signal input ports connected to the switching circuit, in which the number of the control signal input ports is less than that of the scan lines of the liquid crystal display panel, and the switching circuit is coupled between the scan lines and the control signal input ports. The driving method comprises providing a plurality of control signals consisted of sequential or back-and-forth pulses coupled to the control signal input ports from outside of the panel for operation of the switching circuit to drive the scan lines.

摘要： An apparatus and method of testing an organic light emitting diode array are disclosed. A current meter and voltage source are serially connected between a common line and power supply line shared by any pixel unit. Specific logic values are sequentially written to the pixel units via signal lines and the current readings corresponding the pixel units are taken by the current meter. Whether the pixel units are defective can be determined according to the current readings. The defective type of a pixel units can be determined according to the current reading corresponding to the defective pixel unit and the current readings corresponding the other perfect pixel units.

摘要： A source-follower-type analogue buffer with an active load, a new compensating operation and a display with the source-follower-type analogue buffers are developed to reduce an error voltage which is the difference between an input voltage and an output voltage of the analogue buffer. The source-follower type analogue buffer can also minimize the variation from both the charging time and the device characteristics and maximize the range of the input voltage.

摘要： The invention discloses an LCD with an ambient light sense function and its method. The method compraises the step of: coupling a capacitor to a source electrode of a thin film transistor; calculating a transmission time which required by a potential change from the reduction of electric charges; and finally, calculating an intensity of the ambient light according to the transmission time. The invention further discloses an ambient light sense circuit having a thin film transistor, a capacitor and a read-out switch. As the ambient light changes, a leakage current of the thin film transistor is changed accordingly, and the transmission time which required by the potential change is therefore changed. The read-out switch transmits said potential to a data read-out line in order to calculate the intensity of the ambient light from the transmission time. The LCD of this invention includes a plurality of capacitors, a plurality of read-out switches and a processing module.

The LCD includes a first substrate, provided with a plurality of parallel gate lines and a plurality of parallel signal lines, wherein the gate lines and signal lines are perpendicular, and a pixel area is defined by two adjacent gate lines and two adjacent signal lines. A source electrode, electrically connected to one of the adjacent signal lines, and a drain electrode are formed on the pixel area. A first pixel electrode is formed, electrically connected to the drain electrode, on the pixel area. A second substrate is provided a predetermined distance above the first substrate, having a plurality of color-filtering areas, directly above the respective pixel area. A second pixel electrode layer is formed on the second substrate, wherein the part thereof directly above the signal lines is relatively thin.
