摘要： An array substrate includes a substrate, a switching element, a pixel electrode, and a common electrode. The substrate includes a plurality of gate lines, data lines insulated from the gate lines, and the data lines extend in a direction crossing the gate lines. The switching element is connected to the gate lines and data lines. The pixel electrode is arranged in a pixel area which is defined on the substrate, and is connected to an output electrode of the switching element. The common electrode corresponds to the pixel area and is insulated from the pixel electrode, and the common electrode has at least one first slit corresponding to the data line.

摘要： A liquid crystal display includes a first substrate facing a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates, a first electrode disposed on the first substrate and being planar, and a second electrode disposed on the first substrate with branch electrodes overlapping the first electrode. The branch electrode includes boundary regions disposed at opposing ends thereof and at least two main regions disposed between the boundary regions. The main regions include a first main region adjacent to a second main region. A first angle, formed by the branch electrode in the first main region with respect to a first direction, is different from a second angle formed by the branch electrode in the second main region with respect to the first direction. A third angle, formed by the branch electrode in the boundary regions with respect to the first direction, is larger than the first and second angles.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate having a gate line and two data lines crossing with the gate line to define a pixel, a first pixel electrode connected to the gate line and the first data line, and a second pixel electrode connected to the gate line and the second data line. A second substrate opposes the first substrate and includes a common electrode having a common electrode cutting pattern. The pixel electrode includes a pixel electrode cutting pattern to form domains and sub domains in the pixel with the common electrode cutting pattern. A liquid crystal layer is arranged between the first and second substrates. The pixel electrodes include bent portions. The pixel electrode and the common electrode include sub cutting patterns extending towards the sub domains at the bent portions.
