摘要: An image displaying apparatus includes laser light sources corresponding to a plurality of colors, while at least one of the laser light sources corresponding to one of the colors includes a plurality of wavelength conversion laser light sources corresponding to a mutually same color and has a plurality of outputs. The image displaying apparatus is operable to display a color image by causing a spatial modulation element to perform a spatial modulation process on laser beams output from the laser light sources by using a field sequential method. When the spatial modulation element performs the spatial modulation process on the laser beams output from one of the laser light sources (e.g., the green laser light source) having a plurality of outputs, a drive controlling device causes green laser emitting units serving as the wavelength conversion laser light sources to sequentially output pulses so that the laser beams output from the green laser emitting units continuously form substantially constant laser outputs that have substantially the same peak power as each other.

摘要: A coherent light source includes a plurality of light emitting points arranged in one-dimensional array. A beam shaping unit shapes a light beam so that a diameter of a light emitted from the coherent light source in a direction perpendicular to a direction of the light emitting point array is larger than a diameter in the direction of the light emitting point array, and an intensity distribution of the light emitted from each of the light emitting points is uniform. A magnification of a focusing optical system is set such that a light emitted from the beam shaping unit is coupled to an optical fiber based on a maximum diameter of the light emitted from the beam shaping unit.

摘要: A mouse cDNA library from gene fragments encoding proteins localizing at cell—cell junctions was screened by a technique visualizing localization of a protein to identify a junction-enriched and -associated protein, JEAP. GenBank homology search was performed based on the sequence. Based on the obtained sequence, a mouse cDNA library was screened to identify JEAP-2. By using prepared antibodies against these proteins, it was revealed that these proteins express specifically at tight junctions, in particular, tight junctions in exocrine glands.

摘要: A solid state laser excited by a semiconductor laser can generate a stable and highly efficient high power laser beam. The laser apparatus includes a solid state laser element containing an active medium, a semiconductor laser for optically exciting the solid state laser element, a power supply for supplying pulses of current having magnitudes that change with time during each pulse to the semiconductor laser, and an optical resonator for emission of a laser beam from the solid state laser element. When the semiconductor laser is driven with the pulses that change in magnitude during each pulse, it produces pulsed excitation light that excites the solid state laser element. A stable laser beam is produced because changes in thermally sensitive light-generating parameters of the semiconductor laser are compensated.

摘要: The semiconductor substrate is manufactured by growing a semiconductor crystal in accordance with CZ method; forming a substrate from the semiconductor crystal; and heat treating the formed substrate at 1150.degree. C. or higher for 30 min or longer in non-oxidizing atmosphere (e.g., 1200.degree. C. for 1 hour in hydrogen gas). In the formed wafer, the density of bulk micro-defects is 5.times.10.sup.2 to 5.times.10.sup.6 pieces per cm.sup.-3 in the surface area, but 5.times.10.sup.7 pieces per cm.sup.-3 or more in an 20 .mu.m or deeper from the surface. To confirm the depth profile of BMD density, the substrate is further heat treated at 780.degree. C. for 3 hours in oxygen atmosphere and successively at 1000.degree. C. for 16 hours in oxygen atmosphere.
