摘要: A radio terminal apparatus is provided that enables a delay in information reception to be more dependably prevented while suppressing power consumption. A radio terminal apparatus (400) has an application section (403) that acquires by means of radio communication, and uses, service data that includes a plurality of items of information that should be acquired at different predetermined intervals, a radio communication section (402), a within-service-range determination section (405) that determines, by means of radio communication, which of the plurality of items of information is possible to be acquired, based on service data acquired by means of radio communication, and an activation control section (401) that, when it is possible to acquire at least one of the plurality of items of information by means of radio communication, controls activation/stopping of the radio communication section (402) so as to perform radio communication at a predetermined interval corresponding to that information. When it is impossible to acquire any of the plurality of items of information by means of radio communication, the activation control section (401) controls activation/stopping of the radio communication section (402) so as to perform radio communication at the shortest interval among a plurality of predetermined intervals.

摘要: Providing a broadcast system wherein storage of contents on the receiving side and use restriction on the stored contents, etc. can be performed per service provided by contents providers. In a storage-based digital broadcast system wherein contents transmitted from a sending side are stored on a receiving side then reproduced, the sending side transmits service structure information for describing relational structure between services provided by contents providers and reference information for associating the contents with the service structure information in advance, and the receiving side receives and stores service structure information and reference information and uses the received service structure information and reference information to manage storage of contents. It is possible to control contents per service based on service structure information and information that can be reorganized from reference information.

摘要: Provided is a walking azimuth detection device capable of quickly and accurately detecting a walking azimuth at the start of walker's walking. The device (700) detects a walking azimuth of a person and has an acceleration component calculation unit (730) for obtaining a vertical component and a horizontal component of an acceleration of the person and a walking azimuth calculation unit (770) for determining the walking azimuth on the basis of the time sequence data of the vertical component and the horizontal component. When the vertical component becomes local minimum immediately after the person has been in a stop state, the walking azimuth calculation unit (770) takes the direction of the acceleration as the walking azimuth.

摘要: Provided is a wireless terminal capable of transmitting accompanying information in an ad-hoc network to an external network in a state in which the incidence of missing information is minimized. In this device, ad-hoc communication and external communication are performed at different timings. Node function determination unit (120) determines a representative terminal shared by a plurality of terminals in every interval obtained by dividing a time axis. Wireless communication unit (130) performs ad-hoc communication in an interval in which the wireless terminal is not the representative terminal. Communication data management unit (140) stores representative terminal information indicating which of the terminals is the representative terminal, and communication history for ad-hoc communication. Output data generator (160) sends the communication history and the representative terminal information in a mutually associated state to the external network using external interface unit (150) during an interval in which the wireless terminal is the representative terminal.

摘要: A content multicasting system is capable of quickly finding the location of a content to be multicast simultaneously. Contents to be simultaneously released are extracted on the basis of attribute information on contents, a location table in which location information on the extracted contents and their content identifiers are associated with each other is transmitted, and location information on the contents is acquired by searching the received location tables with priority. This arrangement enables each receiving apparatus, when it intends to find out the location of a content, to promptly know the location of the content by searching with priority among the received location tables, the location table consisting only of contents to be simultaneously released, and as a result concentration of attempted accesses to a transmitting apparatus can avoided.

摘要: An information method and system enables information, from a set of original information which is updated at regular or irregular intervals, to be provided to each information receiving apparatus of respective users via a data transmission path which can be selected in accordance with the type of data to be transferred, stated preferences of the user with regard to providing of data, current operating status of a data communication network, etc. A set of framework data are selected as data which are rarely updated, by monitoring original information that is to be provided, over a suitably long period, and are stored at the information providing apparatus and each information receiving apparatus. Thereafter until a new set of framework data are selected, any differences between newly updated original information and the framework data are obtained as variation data, and transmitted to be stored at each information receiving apparatus, which can reconstitute desired data on request from a user by combining appropriate parts of the locally stored framework and variation data, thereby minimizing the amounts of data which must be transmitted to the information receiving apparatuses.
