    Abstract: A motor module includes a motor and a rotation angle detector including a rotation angle calculator that calculates a rotation angle based on a voltage and an electric current of the motor, a first signal generator that generates a first signal based on a ripple component included in the electric current, an operation part that corrects the rotation angle based on the first signal and the rotation angle, and a rotation information calculator that calculates information on rotation of the motor based on an output from the operation part. The operation part outputs, to the rotation angle calculator, a command to correct the rotation angle when the first signal is generated for the first time while the rotation angle is within a predetermined angle range, and ignores the first signal that is generated for the second or subsequent time while the rotation angle is within the predetermined angle range.

    Abstract: An input device includes a base member, a motor, a rotation shaft, a worm gear, a first gear, a second gear, an elastic member, a rotor, an angle detection unit, and a controller. The rotation shaft is rotated by the motor. The worm gear is unitarily rotated with the rotation shaft. The first gear is rotatable and engaged with the worm gear. The second gear is coaxial with the first gear. The elastic member generates urging force. The rotor is rotatable relative to the base member, includes a third gear engaged with the second gear, and is rotated by an operator. The angle detection unit detects a first rotation angle of the first gear and a second rotation angle of the second gear. The controller performs drive control for the motor to change a sense of force applied to the operator.

    Abstract: A rotation angle detection device includes a current meter that measures a current flowing in a direct current motor; a filter that extracts a ripple component from the current; a ripple detector that detects a ripple from a signal that has passed through the filter; and a rotation angle detector that detects a rotation angle of the direct current motor based on the number of ripples. The rotation angle detector measures an observation period based on consecutive ripples, calculates an estimation period between the consecutive ripples based on the observation period, determines whether the observation period is within a normal range based on the estimation period and the observation period, and in response to determining that the observation period is within the normal range and an immediately-previous observation period is outside the normal range, calculates a number of correction ripples CRN so as to correct the number of the ripples.

    Abstract: A rotation angle detector includes a rotational angular velocity calculator that calculates a rotational angular velocity of a motor based on an inter-terminal voltage of the motor detected by a voltage detector and a current flowing through the motor and detected by a current detector; a ripple detector that detects a ripple component included in the current; and a failure detector that detects a failure of any one of the voltage detector, the current detector, and the ripple detector based on outputs from the detectors. The failure detector determines that the failure has occurred when a state, where the outputs from two of the voltage detector, the current detector, and the ripple detector indicate normal rotation and the output from the remaining one of the voltage detector, the current detector, and the ripple detector does not indicate normal rotation, continues for a predetermined period of time.

    Abstract: A rotation angle detecting method includes measuring a current flowing through a motor, and obtaining a rotation angle of the motor based on a value of the measured current. The obtaining of the rotation angle of the motor includes obtaining the rotation angle in an inertial rotation of the motor based on a rotational angular velocity of the motor immediately before a first time point, a time period from the first time point to a second time point, and a time period from the second time point to a third time point. The first time point is a time point at which driving of the motor is stopped, the second time point is a time point at which a polarity of the value of the measured current is inverted, and the third time point is a time point at which the value of the measured current becomes zero.

    Abstract: When a rotation start position of a rotation shaft 132 is a middle start position 31a (i.e., when rotation of the rotation shaft 132 is stopped in the middle and the rotation is restarted), target rotational speed (relative target rotational speed) is defined using a relative pattern 31 that uses the middle start position 31a as a reference, without using an absolute pattern 33 that is defined using a normal rotation start position 33a as a reference. Upon detecting that a condition that absolute target rotational speed corresponding to an angular position detected by a rotation sensor 134 is greater than the relative target rotational speed is not satisfied, motor control is switched so that the absolute pattern 33 is used.
