    Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The UE may attempt to detect synchronization signals, including Long Term Evolution (LTE) synchronization signals from eNBs, New Radio (NR) synchronization signals from gNBs, and sidelink synchronization signals (SLSSs) from other UEs. The UE may prioritize an LTE synchronization signal over an SLSS, and may prioritize an NR synchronization signal over an SLSS. If the UE does not detect an LTE synchronization signal or an NR synchronization signal, the UE may select an SLSS. The UE may prioritize an SLSS from a UE that is directly synchronized to an eNB or a gNB over an SLSS from another UE that is indirectly synchronized to an eNB or a gNB.

    Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE), operable to generate an enhanced buffer status report (eBSR) is disclosed. The UE can identify packets for uplink transmission. The UE can filter the packets for uplink transmission, to identify a number of small packets pending for transmission and a number of larger packets, relative to the small packets, that are pending for transmission in the uplink transmission. The UE can encode the eBSR for transmission to a next generation node B (gNB), wherein the eBSR includes information identifying the number of small packets pending for transmission. The UE can have a memory interface configured to send to a memory the number of small packets pending for transmission.

    Abstract: IMS emergency call routing techniques are described. In one embodiment, for example, an apparatus may comprise at least one memory and logic for a P-CSCF node, at least a portion of the logic comprised in circuitry coupled to the at least one memory, the logic to cause the P-CSCF node to receive an SIP INVITE message from a roaming UE, the SIP INVITE message associated with an attempt to place an emergency call via an unauthenticated IMS session, the logic to cause the P-CSCF node to obtain a PSAP callback number for the UE from a PCRF node via an Rx interface, identify a PSAP callback parameter for the UE based on the PSAP callback number, insert the PSAP callback parameter into the SIP INVITE message, and forward the SIP INVITE message to a PSAP. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
