In another embodiment of the present invention a mobile bearing knee prosthesis may include an interface (e.g., a spherical radius interface) comprised of a convex superior surface on a tibial tray and a concave inferior surface on a tibial insert. In another embodiment of the present invention a mobile bearing knee prosthesis may include a bi-concave interface (e.g., having a “wave” like surface geometry). This “wave” like surface geometry may be at the second bearing (i.e., at the interface between a tibial insert and a tibial tray in the mobile bearing knee as opposed to the interface between the tibial insert and a femoral component).

摘要: A composite bearing insert for a total knee joint or a unicondylar knee joint which minimizes or eliminates the production of wear debris resulting from relative motion at the interface between the endoskeleton and a tibial tray of a knee joint prosthesis. The composite bearing insert includes an endoskeleton and a polymer portion which is preferably molded into and locked within the endoskeleton. The endoskeleton is configured to be locked to a tibial component, such as a tibial tray or keel. The modularity of the assembly facilitates the interchangeability of various composite bearing inserts with various tibial components.

摘要: The present invention provides for improved surgical methods for securely fix the L5 vertebrae to the S1 sacrum within the disc space for patients exhibiting a wide range of anatomies. The present invention has at least one advantage of providing practical and advantageous methods for accessing the spinal vertebrae to insert spinal implants in various manners that overcome the disadvantages of posterior, trans-sacro-iliac and anterior lateral approaches thereto and minimize surgical trauma to the patient. Thus the present invention provides for the unmet need for an improved method for performing spinal surgical procedures (e.g., spinal fusion and/or fixations) that can securely fix the L5 vertebrae to the S1 sacrum within the disc space for patients exhibiting a wide range of anatomies.
