    摘要: There is provided a halophosphate phosphor having the formula (Ca, Mg, Ba, Sr, Zn)5(PO4)3(F, Cl, Br): Sb3+, Mn2+ doped with at least one rare earth ion which has a higher charge carrier capture cross section than the phosphor lattice defects. The rare earth ion preferentially traps charge carriers and thus decreases the density of color centers. The rare earth ions are preferably trivalent ions selected from Eu3+, Sm3+, Yb3+, Tm3+, Ce3+, Tb3+ and Pr3+.

Applications for such phosphors include use in toys, emergency equipment, clothing, and instrument panels, among others.

    摘要: A phosphor comprises an oxide that comprises: (a) at least an element selected from the group consisting of phosphorus and boron; (b) at least a metal selected from the group consisting of elements of Group IIIA, elements of Group IVA, and elements of the lanthanide series; which oxide is co-activated with Ce3+ and Tb3+. In one embodiment, a phosphor comprises lanthanum and gadolinium phosphate and/or borate co-activated with cerium and terbium. A phosphor of the present invention has low emission of UV radiation having wavelengths longer than about 250 nm, thus efficiently uses exciting UV having shorter wavelengths. The phosphor is used in light source that comprises a UV radiation source to convert efficiently UV radiation to visible light.
