摘要: The invention relates to the use of cysteine derivatives for preparing a medicament intended to treat diseases which result from the formation of the heterotrimeric G protein. These diseases include in particular diseases linked to the following biological functions or disorders: smell, taste, perception of the light, neurotransmission, neurodegeneration, endocrine and exocrine gland functions, autocrine and paracrine regulation, arterial tension, embryogenesis, benign cell proliferation, oncogenesis, viral infection, immunological functions, diabetes, obesity, and benign :and malign proliferative diseases. Said cysteine derivatives include in particular: bis-1,1′-[7-(2-amino-1-oxo-3-thiopropyl)-8-(cyclohexylmethyl)-2-(2-methoxyphenyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroimidazo[1.2a]pyrazine disulphide (I), and bis-1,1′-7-(2-amino-1-oxo-3-thiopropyl-(2-(1-naphtyl)-8-(2-methylpropyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroimidazo[1.2a]pyrazin-7-yl) disulphide (II).

摘要: A donor web for use in a thermal transfer printer comprises a foil having a transfer side and a non-transfer side. A layer of thermal transfer material is disposed on the transfer side of the foil material. Indicia is ink-jetted to the foil. The indicia includes information pertaining to at least one of the length of used foil and the length of unused foil so that an operator can determine whether there is enough foil left for a printing operation. Preferably, the indicia is disposed on the non-transfer side and at a longitudinal edge portion of the foil in order to not affect or otherwise damage the printing portion of the foil. Also, the indicia is preferably white or black ink in order to be clearly visible against various colors of the thermal transfer material. The indicia can also be disposed on a receiver web.

摘要: Aspects of the invention related to a system for providing advance notice of impending contact between a stationary component and a rotating component in a turbine engine. For example, the system can be used to warn of potential contact between a seal holder and a rotor disk in the compressor section of the engine. In one embodiment, a pad or other component can be provided on the stationary seal holder. If the seal holder and the rotor disk approach each other during operation, the pad can contact the rotor disk prior to actual contact between the seal holder and the rotor disk. An optical and/or an acoustic signal can be generated by such contact. The signals can be detected remotely from the point of contact by a signal detection device, thereby avoiding the need to pass wires through the compressor section.

摘要: A contact tip suitable for electric arc welding has a consumable electrode. The contact tip has a body which defines a bore through which the electrode is able to pass to enable electric current from a welding power supply to be transferred from the body to the electrode. The body, in part of the length of the bore between an inlet end and an outlet end, has at least one region (herein referred to as a primary contact region) at which the body is adapted to enable primary electrical contact with the electrode, and along a remainder part of the length of the bore, the body is adapted such that any secondary contact between the body and the electrode along the remainder part does not substantially short circuit the primary electrical contact in the primary contact region of the bore.
