    摘要： An on-vehicle navigation system having a route searching function for automatically selecting a guiding route to a destination in consideration of run experiences of the user. Run experience data indicative of the run experience is formed every road unit which the vehicle has run and is stored, a plurality of traveling routes which a vehicle can run between a start point and the destination are searched for and weights of the road units in the traveling route and the corresponding run experience data is obtained from memory for each of the plurality of traveling routes in the route searching operation, the weight of each road unit in the traveling route is corrected by the corresponding run experience data for each of the plurality of traveling routes, a sum value of the corrected weights corresponding to the road units in the traveling route is calculated for each of the plurality of traveling routes, and a traveling route of which sum value is the minimum is selected from the plurality of traveling routes. The route including the roads which the user has run previously is preferentially selected as a guiding route, so that a route search which makes the most of the run experience of the user is performed.

    摘要： In a map information display device, the map data extracting unit extracts character data corresponding to characters from map data corresponding to the map, and the map data converting unit converts the map data including no character data to a bird's-eye-view map data. The character data converting unit selects designated character data from the extracted character data and converts the character data other than the designated character data to bird's-eye-view character data. Then, the combining unit combines the bird's-eye-view character data, the bird's-eye-view map data and the designated character data to produce combined bird's-eye-view data. Then, the display unit displays the map of bird's-eye-view using the combined bird's-eye-view data.

    摘要： An apparatus for playing a recording medium on which, in addition to a video format signal and a coded information signal, graphic codes including picture information are recorded as the subcode of the coded information signal. The apparatus is structured to generate, as a reading address data, data which varies sequentially by a predetermined value from a value determined in response to a command, and to write sequentially the graphic codes output from an extracting circuit into a memory and subsequently sequentially read out the graphic codes in the order of address indicated by the reading address data. With this feature, the position of the subcode image can be moved on the picture by the video format signal. According to another feature of the invention, the apparatus is structured such that a reading timing signal which has a time relationship determined by a command with respect to a sync signal contained in the video format signal demodulated by a demodulating circuit, and the graphic codes output from the extracting circuit are written into the memory and subsequently sequentially read out in a predetermined order by using the reading timing signal.
