Abstract: An imaging apparatus captures a first image with a first exposure time, captures a second image with a second exposure time shorter than the first exposure time, and determines either the first image and the second image as an image to be used for the calculation of a motion vector depending on a result of the detection of flicker based on the first image and the second image. Then, the imaging apparatus calculates a motion vector based on the determined image.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus that records image data on a detachable storage medium in a previously set recording format is provided. The apparatus sets the recording format of image data, and determines whether or not a storage medium attached to an attachment unit has a communication function that communicates with a different apparatus than the image processing apparatus. If it is determined that the storage medium has a communication function, and that the recording format of image data that can be transferred by the communication function does not match the recording format that has been set, the apparatus issues a warning.

Abstract: An image capturing apparatus includes a driving control unit configured to control driving of an image sensor, and a flicker detection unit configured to detect flicker, which is a periodic change in a light amount of an object, based on a signal output from the image sensor, wherein the driving control unit is configured to, if the image sensor outputs a flicker detection signal to be used in detecting the flicker, control the driving of the image sensor at n different frame rates, n being a natural number greater than or equal to 3, wherein a least common multiple of the n frame rates used in detecting the flicker is not same as any of the n frame rates, and wherein the flicker detection unit is configured to detect the flicker based on the flicker detection signal obtained at each of the n frame rates.

In a case where the sensor shoots the plurality of images while the shift unit is shifting the position of the image of the subject, the detection unit selects the partial region so that a change of the image of the subject in the partial region caused by the shift becomes small between the plurality of images.

Abstract: An imaging apparatus includes a photometric sensor, and can continuously acquire a plurality of images by a single imaging operation. A CPU for image processing and an arithmetic operation acquires image data output by a photometric sensor and performs photometric processing. The CPU determines presence or absence of a flicker light source using a plurality of pieces of acquired image data, and calculates a motion vector of an object by comparison of image data. If it is determined that there is a flicker light source in a photographing environment, gain adjustment is performed on the basis of a result of flicker detection so as to have a brightness of an image suitable for detection of a motion vector, and the motion vector is calculated using image data after gain adjustment.
