摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an air communication port, and an outer casing covering an outside of a frame member of the image forming apparatus. The outer casing includes a first side surface facing in one of a first direction and a second side surface facing in one of a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The first side surface includes a first surface portion extending in a vertical direction, a second surface portion offset in the first direction from the first surface portion toward the inside of the image forming apparatus, and a third surface portion connecting the first and second surface portions. The third surface portion is provided with the air communication port penetrating the outer casing. The first, second surface and third surface portions extend to the second side surface.

摘要： An image forming apparatus, to which a supply container storing a developer is detachably attachable and which forms an image on a recording material, includes a photosensitive member that rotates, an optical box, a developer bearing member, and a developer container including a supply port for receiving the developer to be supplied from the supply container. The optical box irradiates the photosensitive member with light and forms an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive member. The developer bearing member bears the developer and develops the electrostatic latent image by supplying the developer to the photosensitive member. The developer container stores the developer to be borne by the developer bearing member. When viewed in a rotation axial direction of the photosensitive member, a region where the optical box is located and at least a part of a region where the supply port is located overlap each other in a horizontal direction.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an openable cover, including a rotational shaft, capable of opening and closing an opening by being rotated about the rotational shaft relative to a main assembly of the image forming apparatus; an image forming portion for forming a toner image on a sheet; an opposing member, provided in the image forming portion, opposing the openable cover when the openable cover closes the opening; a contact member, provided on the openable cover, contactable to the opposing member; an urging member, provided on the openable cover, for urging the contact member toward the opposing member; and a locking member for locking the openable cover in a closed state relative to the main assembly. The image forming apparatus comprising a cam member, provided in the image forming portion, for moving the contact member toward and away from the opposing member by rotation of the cam member. The cam member has a shape such that when the contact member is contacted to the opposing member in a state in which the openable cover is not locked by the locking member, the cam member applies a force to the openable cover in a direction, in which the opening is open, by rotation thereof and then applies a force to the openable cover in a direction, in which the opening is closed, by rotation thereof.

The image forming unit, supported by the frame, forms an image on a recording material that then is stacked on the stacking unit. The fan sucks air from an outside to an inside of the image forming apparatus via the through-hole. The electronic circuit board is disposed on an upstream side of the fan in a direction of an air flow generated into air by the fan. The stacking unit is disposed on a downstream side of the fan in the direction of the air flow generated by the fan.
