    摘要: A process for preparing an emulsion is disclosed. The process entails mixing an aqueous mineral acid that contains phosphorous in an organic solvent, the mixing being continuous and with the degree of intensity sufficient to form a homogeneous emulsion. The emulsion prepared by the process is useful in the process of preparing polycarbonate by the interfacial process. Accordingly the washed organic polycarbonate that has been washed without the use of a phosphorous containing mineral acid solution is mixed with the novel emulsion. The resulting polycarbonate is characterized by its improved thermal stability.

    摘要: A hand-held power-operable wet-sanding machine includes a frame and a rotatable spindle carried thereby. A sanding wheel is detachably mounted on the spindle. A motor is provided for rotating the spindle. An annular liquid reservoir is mounted removably on the sanding wheel and concentrically surrounds it. The bottom wall of the reservoir is provided with discharge apertures. In a preferred form the spindle is driven by an air motor and a conduit conducts pressurized air to the reservoir to maintain a predetermined pressure on the liquid within the reservoir.

The applications manager includes a single object-oriented functional description of the automation system based on an object meta-model. The functional description includes a plurality of composite functional objects, each of which further include a monitoring facet and a supervision facet. The monitor facet and the supervision facet each include a mapping interface. The topologies manager includes an object-oriented topological description of the automation system based on the object meta-model, and includes a plurality of topological objects. The projects manager includes a monitoring project and a supervision project which relate to the automation system. Monitoring facets are assigned to the monitoring project and supervision facets are assigned to the supervision project. Part of the topological objects are mapped with the monitoring facets and the supervision facets via mapping interfaces.

    摘要: BACKGROUND: Tracheotomy is used to assist patients who require mechanical ventilation. Tracheostomy is a common surgical procedure for intensive care patients. The goals of tracheotomy are to bypass the upper airway, facilitate removal of tracheobronchial secretions, prevent aspiration of gastric contents, and to control the airway for prolonged mechanical ventilation. METHOD: The hypothesis to improve the design of the tracheostomy tube, making it easier to use and eliminating most of the disadvantages found in prior tracheostomy tubes. RESULTS: This device is an improved tracheostomy tube designed with the balloon cuff (18), guide balloon (26), balloon connector (32) and guide balloon valve (24) located on the inner cannula (12). The major improvement in this tracheostomy tube is that the removal of the outer cannula will not be necessary when the balloon cuff is damaged, since replacing the inner cuffed cannula corrects the problem.
