Included in the plurality of receiver coils are a plurality of standard coils and a plurality of filler coils differing in shape from the standard coils. The shape of the filler coils is such that no more than negligible mutual inductance between the filler coils and all adjacent overlapping standard coils is present.

Further, a coil array assembly for use in a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner is provided. The coil array assembly comprises a pair of coil arrays, wherein each coil array comprises: a plurality of low loss coil elements and at least one non-conducting substrate adapted to position the plurality of low loss coil elements in a fixed position thereon. Further, the pair of coil arrays are coupled to the MRI scanner for receiving imaging signals in a region of interest excited within the pair of coil arrays. Further, the coil array is adapted for use in breast imaging.

    摘要: A photonic system and method for optical data transmission in medical imaging system are provided. One photonic system includes a plurality of optical modulators having different optical resonance wavelengths and configured to receive electrical signals representative of a set of data from a medical imaging device. The photonic system also includes an optical waveguide interfacing with the plurality of optical modulators and configured to transmit an amplitude modulated beam of light at different frequencies to selectively modulate the plurality of optical modulators to transmit an encoded beam of light. The photonic system further includes receiver opto-electronics in communication with the optical waveguide configured to decode the encoded beam of light and convert the decoded beam of light into the electrical signals representative of the set of data.
