摘要: Provided herein are techniques through which a Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS) device can be controlled to facilitate various wireless local area network (WLAN) communication optimizations. In one example, a method may include providing, by a wireless access point (AP) to an RIS device that includes reflecting elements, tuning information for an RIS tuning procedure that is to be performed by the wireless AP involving a wireless client; performing the RIS tuning procedure with involving wireless client in which the RIS tuning procedure includes performing a plurality of transmissions in which the RIS device is to configure the reflecting elements according to a particular dispersion mode configuration for each transmission; and identifying a guard interval value and a particular dispersion mode configuration of the RIS device that is to be utilized for subsequent transmissions involving the wireless client.

摘要: Presented herein are techniques to provide for the ability to utilize 3GPP-generated Session Keys that can be generated via a primary authentication or a secondary authentication process for a user equipment (UE) via a private wireless wide area (WWA) access network in which the keys can be leveraged to facilitate connection of the UE to a wireless local area (WLA) access network. In one example, a method may include obtaining a request to authenticate a UE for connection to a WWA access network; determining that the UE is capable of a Fast Transition (FT) capability; authenticating the UE for connection to the WWA access in which, based on the FT capability, the authenticating includes generating a root security key for the UE; and upon determining that the UE is attempting to access the WLA access network, providing the root security key for the UE to the WLA access network.

Then, in response to receiving the request to join the network, initial characteristics of the client device may be evaluated. Next, an initial plurality of links list may be provided to the client device in response to evaluating the initial characteristics of the client device. Subsequent characteristics of the client device may then be evaluated. An updated plurality of links list may be provided to the client device in response to evaluating the subsequent characteristics of the client device.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to simultaneous operation of Wi-Fi access points in a super cell mode and a standalone mode and controlling connectivity of end terminals thereto. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a configuration for a group of access points operating within a network, the configuration allowing each access point of the group to operate in a super cell mode over a shared frequency channel and a standalone mode over a non-shared frequency channel. The method further includes determining, for an end terminal, whether the end terminal is to connect to the network over the shared frequency channel or the non-shared frequency channel based on a network policy to yield a determination; and controlling connectivity of the end terminal to at least one access point of the group of access points over the shared frequency channel or the non-shared frequency channel based on the determination.

In one example, a method may include obtaining first performance metrics associated with links of a WWA vRAN (e.g., fronthaul, midhaul, and backhaul links); obtaining second performance metrics associated with links WLA RAN (e.g., backhaul links); and in response to determining that one of the WWA vRAN is experiencing degraded performance based on the first performance metrics or the WLA RAN the second performance metrics, activating a steering event that causes, at least in part, an indication to be communicated to a UE to cause the UE to connect to the WWA vRAN or the WLA RAN that is not experiencing degraded performance.

摘要: Presented herein are techniques to provide for the ability to optimize the caching of Fast Transition (FT) hierarchical keys based on a derived or statically defined neighbor relationship between wireless wide area (WWA) access network nodes and wireless local area (WLA) access network nodes and also user equipment (UE) mobility triggers in the WWA access network. In one example, a method may include instructing a UE to report detection of a WLA access network and based, at least in part, on obtaining a notification via a WWA access node indicating UE detection of the WLA access network, identifying WLA access nodes that neighbor the WWA access node. The method may further include generating FT key material for the UE and communicating a portion of the FT key material to the WLA access nodes that neighbor the WWA access node to facilitate authenticating the UE to the WLA access network.

摘要: Presented herein are techniques to facilitate fast roaming between a mobile network operator-public (MNO-public) wireless wide area (WWA) access network and an enterprise private WWA access network. In one example, a method is provided that may include generating, by an authentication node, authentication material for a user equipment (UE) based on the UE being connected to a public WWA access network, wherein the public WWA access network is associated with a mobile network operator, and the authentication node and the UE are associated with an enterprise entity; obtaining, by the authentication node, an indication that the UE is attempting to access a private WWA access network associated with the enterprise entity; and providing, by the authentication node, the authentication material for the UE, wherein the authentication material facilitates connection establishment between the UE and the private WWA access network.
