摘要： A multi function device includes a main board configured to control functions corresponding to a model of the multi function device and a sub board configured to be connected with the main board. The sub board carries out peripheral control corresponding to the model of the multi function device. Main board first identification information indicative of a category of the main board is obtained, and main board second identification information intrinsic to each model of the multi function device is also obtained. Then, the model of the multi function device is identified based on the main board first identification information and the main board second identification information when the multi function device is powered on. Further, function information corresponding to the identified model is obtained. The main board and the sub board of the multi function device are controlled based on the function information so as to function correctly.

摘要： An image reading apparatus includes: a reader configured to read an image to create image data representative of the image; a processor; and a memory storing instructions. According to the instructions, the processor receives first operational input for causing the reader to read the image and obtains a registration request transmitted from a first device that is one of at least one information processing device connected to the image reading apparatus through a network. The registration request is for registering the first device as a transmission destination to which the image data is to be transmitted. The processor registers the first device as the transmission destination, based on the obtained registration request. When the image data is created by the reader in response to receipt of the first operational input, the processor transmits the image data crated by the reader, to the registered first device.

摘要： An ink jet recorder includes an ink jet head having nozzles, through which ink can be ejected. The recorder also includes an apparatus for purging the head. The apparatus includes a cap for covering the nozzles. The apparatus also includes a suction pump for sucking ink from the head through the cap covering the nozzles. The apparatus further includes a memory, a temperature sensor and a controller. The memory stores the purge interval at which the pump should suck ink. The sensor measures ambient temperature. If the measured temperature is abnormal, the controller replaces the stored purge interval with shorter interval. In this case, the apparatus purges the head at the shorter interval. This keeps the ejection of ink in good condition regardless of ambient temperature.
