摘要： A system and associated method of processing solid waste via a waste gasification process results in usable by-products. The method utilizes a rotary kiln heated to a temperature of at least 800° F. and a reduction chamber, heated to a temperature of at least 1800° F. The solid waste is slowly rotated in the kiln for six to eight hours. The solid material is passed through screens to separate the ash from other items. Gases are monitored and transported to the reduction chamber to generate power. The gases are then transported to at least one air pollution control unit to remove contaminants before being vented into the atmosphere.

摘要： A peak respiratory flow monitor utilizes an enclosure having a series of openings through the wall thereof, a provision for covering a desired number of these openings, and a provision for generating a signal when the air flow through the enclosure reaches a threshold. In a preferred embodiment the enclosure includes an elongated tubular member, and the threshold indicator is a reed placed in a chamber that has an adjustable valve for calibrating the flow past the reed. Furthermore, the chamber causes a displacement of flow from along the longitudinal axis of the tubular member.

摘要： The present air tubes include a resistive element which is located in the hollow space of the tubular portion. This resistive element is adapted for providing a linear resistance-versus-pressure response is sized and adapted to cause a pressure difference or differential as air flows in the hollow space across this element. The resistive element includes a planar member having a first face and a second face, and a circular parameter connecting the first face to the second face. An aperture is formed in a center of the planar member for connecting the first face to the second face. A plurality of slots in the planar member extend radially from the aperture, thereby forming a plurality of hinged windows in the planar member. Each of the slots includes a central end and a distal end. The resistive element further includes a plurality of hinge slots. Each hinge slot is connected to a distal end of a slot, and extends generally perpendicularly to an axis of the slot. A total number of hinge slots corresponds to a total number slots.

摘要： Face shield for protecting a wearer's face from spatters. The shield includs a flexible, transparent portion sized to cover the face and a flexible spacer portion for contact with the wearer's forehead to provide adequate clearance of the transparent flexible portion away from the wearer's face. When worn, the flexible spacer portion substantially completely seals the top portion of the shield to prevent spatters from reaching the face from the top, that is, through the portion occupied by the spacer.

The shield includes a flexible, transparent portion sized to cover the face and a flexible spacer portion for contact with the wearer's forehead to provide adequate clearance of the transparent flexible portion away from the wearer's face.
