The present invention discloses a corrugated settling cup and a multi-cup uniform flux gas anchor, which belong to oilfield gas-liquid separation devices. The external profile of the cup body of the corrugated settling cup rises in a corrugated shape along an axial direction of the corrugated settling cup, which facilitates rapid aggregation and rise of gas. The multi-cup uniform flux gas anchor is comprised of a plurality of the corrugated settling cups, and further includes a central pipe, a plurality of settling cup protectors and a well-flushing valve, wherein the plurality of settling cup protectors are slipped onto the central pipe in clearance fit and the plurality of the corrugated settling cups are slipped onto the central pipe in clearance fit between every two settling cup protectors, a plurality of liquid inlet holes are located evenly on the central pipe at a position close to an inner bottom of each corrugated settling cup, and a lower portion of the central pipe is connected to the well-flushing valve. With the plurality of the corrugated settling cups, the gas anchor divides a gas-liquid mixture into a number of portions, and the external profile rising in a corrugated shape allows the separated gas to rapidly aggregate and rise up, thereby achieving the object of performing effective gas-liquid separation, increasing pump efficiency and oil production, saving energy and reducing consumption.

A learning filter generator is provided at the image encoder for generating a set of filters and associated filtering rules for filtering cross-boundary image patterns based on representative original and decoded training images using a supervised machine learning algorithm. An adaptive filter at the image decoder receives the generated filters and associated filtering rules and performs locally adaptive filtering in accordance with the received filtering rules.

Methods of image interpolation disclosed herein include a method of irregular-grid expanded-block weighted motion compensation (IEWMC) and a method of block-wise directional hole interpolation (BDHI). The IEWMC can be used with unidirectional motion or disparity trajectories. The IEWMC can be applied in both forward and backward directions, and the interpolated images resulting from IEWMC application can be superimposed, or averaged, to reduce the blocking artifacts and handle the holes and overlaps. The BDHI takes into account the orientation of local edges and textures when filling the holes, which results in a sharper interpolated image.

A method and system for image and video encoding and decoding is disclosed. A plurality of macro-blocks of pixels are defined in the image to be encoded, for subsequent block-by-block encoding and decoding. A node-cell structure of pixels is individually defined for each macro-block. The node pixels are encoded first. Then, the cell pixels are encoded using the decoded node pixels as a reference. This allows increasing macro-block size without a significant degradation of pixel encoding quality.

A curved wavelet transform and a related image/video compression system are disclosed. The curved wavelet transform (CWT) is carried out by applying one-dimensional (1-D) wavelet filters along curves, rather than along only horizontal and vertical directions. The image/video compression system includes a curve determination unit, a curved wavelet transform unit, a wavelet coefficient quantization unit, a wavelet coefficient coding unit, and a curve coding unit. The quantization and coding of the wavelet coefficients are related to the curves. In one embodiment, recursive wavelet filters are used for inverse wavelet decomposition. The system provides higher compression capability than conventional wavelet-based image compression systems.

This is followed by periodically injecting simultaneously or alternately a non-condensible gas and an aqueous solution of foaming composition to form a combined foam under ground or periodically injecting the combined foam formed beforehand by the gas and said aqueous solution above ground. The aqueous solution of foaming composition comprises an alkali, a surfactant and a polymer. Thereafter, an aqueous polymer solution used as a protecting-slug is injected into the formation; followed by continuing water-flooding.
