A method for controlling the regeneration cycles for an air dryer in a closed ride height control system for vehicles. Compressed air chambers and a compressed air storage reservoir are charged with compressed air and ventilated via a compressed air line, or are charged via a compressed air intake line connected to the compressor and ventilated via the compressed air line. Compressed air quantity delivered through the dryer by the compressor, and temperature and/or the humidity of the air sucked in from the atmosphere are measured. The dryer is considered saturated under the assumption that air sucked in by the compressor and delivered through the air dryer is at the highest possible ambient temperature and humidity. Regeneration air quantity required for the compressed air quantity for the dryer to attain the desired dew point is determined as a function of the ambient temperature and/or the humidity of the intake air.

The level control system (1) includes at least one actuator (2a, 2b) which allows the level of the vehicle body to be modified by a height modifying process. A control unit (10) controls a valve (6a, 6b, 14) associated with the actuator (2a, 2b). During a height modifying process the valve (6a, 6b, 14) is open, and the actuator (2a, 2b) can be expanded by adding a pressure medium or lowered by evacuating the pressure medium. The method is performed by determining the level of the vehicle body, inducing a height modifying process if the determined level is below or above a predetermined level, examining in the control unit (10) whether the valve (6a, 6b, 14) has been opened, and terminating the height modifying process if the valve (6a, 6b, 14) has not or not completely been opened.

A device for connecting a first component to a second component includes a first lever provided with a first opening which, together with an axle on the first component forms a rotating articulation around which the first lever can be rotatably connected to the first component for rotation relative the first component. The lever is provided with a holding element which extends over the second component and engages an additional holding element located on thereon to connect the first component to the second component. In order to simplify the production of the first lever and to allow for assembly without using any tools, the first lever is fabricated from a strip of sheet metal by means of punching out and deformation, or is alternatively in the form of an extruded plastic part. The first opening is connected with an insertion cut-out which has a smaller diameter in the transitional area in a region adjacent the first opening than the axle. This configuration allows the lever to be rotatably mounted to the first component by simply snapping it on the axle. The holding element is defined by a wall on the lever which delimits a second opening of the lever and an insertion cut-out connected therewith. A projection following the wall and extending parallel to additional holding element located on the second component is made in the form of an enlarged running surface and support for engaging the additional holding element. Such structure obviates disposition of a roller on the holding element, as provided in known devices for the connection of two components to each other.
