Abstract:
A structural mounting connector or spigot for mounting a glazing frame section to a structure. The connector has a mounting section receivable within a void or hollow end of a glazing frame section, which mounting section has an upper flange or surface and a lower flange or surface for accepting vertical fasteners such as screws or pins which attach the connector to the glazing frame section. The connector also has a connecting web between the top and bottom flanges which contain elongated cavities or passageways for receiving other fasteners, such as screws or bolts, by which the mounting spigot section is affixed to a structure. The connecting web has projections which have guide means to guide the vertical screws or pins between the top and bottom flanges portions such that the mounting spigot section is connectable to the glazing frame section and the glazing frame section to the structure, with the mounting spigot section and fasteners being concealed in the glazing frame section. The mounting spigot section is able to be cut to length and shape by a single cut taken in the same plane as the cut in the glazing frame section to produce an angled join of the glazing frame section to and flush with the structure.
Abstract:
A structural mounting system for mounting of structural components includes a base section and a co-operating section each of which in use is secured to a respective structural component and which are assembled together. The base section in cross section includes an undercut and the co-operating section in cross section includes a leg, having a toe projecting laterally to engage the undercut. When the sections are being coupled together the co-operating section is rotated about its longitudinal direction relative to its final position so that lateral movement of the toe to engage beneath the undercut requires the co-operating section to rotate about the longitudinal axis relative to the base section to adopt its final position. Spaced linear restraint points and a rotation restraint point together defining a triangle of points of contact to make the assembly of sections rigid. The sections have co-operating formations which require rotation of the co-operating section relative to the base section in a direction opposite to the direction of rotation to effect engagement of the toe with the undercut during close coupling of the two sections together until the toe reaches the undercut and the co-operating section can rotate to its final position.
Abstract:
A draught and weather excluder comprising a gap sealing section which enables simple, fast and effective closure of gaps below hinged and sliding doors is disclosed. The sealing section may be simply fitted to the underside of a door edge using strips of bonding tape so that the device may be fitted without removing or modifying the door in anyway. The sealing section comprises two main webs, a mounting web and a sealing web, which are connected together along the length of the section by a hinged or weakened section. The mounting web consisting of a generally thin flat flexible web for flush mounting the sealing section directly to the underside of a door edge. The sealing web consists of a generally curved or non-linear cross section for making contact with and freely sliding over floor surfaces including floor coverings and for actively mounting obstacles on the floor. The sealing web may contain a nose portion extending from the free extremity of the sealing web so as to allow the sealing web to glide freely and smoothly over a floor surface without fouling as the door is rotated in either direction. The nose portion may contain a biasing web extending from its free extremity and extending upwardly and inwardly towards the hinge. The biasing web being able to make contact with the mounting web during upward rotation of the sealing web. The sealing section has a generally constant cross section and may be produced in long lengths of resilient flexible type materials such as plastic.

Structure and method for assembling a structural frame for use in erecting temporary or permanent structures, which structural frame has a first component having at least one auxiliary elongated web section with an elongated entrance channel opening for allowing insertion into the hollow interior of a coupler component to which is attached a second component. The channel opening defines a wider gap portion through which a coupler component is inserted, and a narrower gap portion that secures the coupler therein attaching the coupler component to an end of the second component. The first and second components are firmly, yet removable, secured together by first inserting the first wider section of the coupler through the wider gap section of the entrance channel opening of the first component, and then sliding the coupler along the hollow interior of the first component until the wider section is located at and within the narrower gap section of the entrance channel opening of the first component.
