    摘要: A self-powered axial current sensor for generating a signal which accurately represents current in a power line includes, in one embodiment, a housing having a bus bar opening of substantially rectangular shape extending longitudinally therethrough. The housing also includes current sensor core retaining walls which define a current sensor region, and a cover base wall which defines, with one of the retaining walls, a power core region. A current sensor core and coil are located in the current sensor region and are positioned proximate the bus bar opening. The current sensor core and coil also are substantially symmetrical with respect to the center axis of the bus bar opening. The current sensor further includes a power core and a power coil located in the power core region and positioned substantially symmetrically with respect to the center axis of bus bar opening.

The sensing coil is disposed between the sensing bars, and the sensing bars and sensing coil extend through the power coil core opening. A reference coil may also be situated between the sensing bars. The current sensor is connected in series in the power line.

    摘要: An arc fault circuit breaker assembled such that electrical interconnections, i.e., electrical connections between compartments, are made without disassembling any previously assembled compartment. The arc fault circuit breaker comprises housings having compartments within. Electrically connected components having interconnecting components, i.e., components which provide electrical interconnections between compartments, are disposed within the compartments. The housings are assembled together to enclose the compartments. Interconnecting components within an enclosed compartment extend through openings in the housings to provide electrical interconnections to the next compartment to be assembled. Therefore, no disassembly of the enclosed compartment is necessary to make the interconnections.

    摘要: An arc fault circuit breaker comprising an electronics portion that is interconnected with a mechanical portion is presented. A plunger arm affixed to the end of a plunger shaft of a solenoid connects the electronics portion with the mechanical portion. A protrusion is provided to assist in assembly of the circuit breaker. The protrusion depends from the plunger arm. An assembler applies a light downward force with one finger on the protrusion and the plunger arm tends to assume a position at right angles to the surface of the printed circuit board. When the electronics portion is connected with the mechanical portion, the plunger arm is properly aligned and it enters into the slot. If the electronics portion is slightly offset, the assembler's finger on the protrusion can move the plunger arm slightly to align the plunger arm. Thus, the invention enables an assembler to hold and guide the plunger arm into the correct position with one hand while assembling the circuit breaker.
