    摘要: A surgical staple cartridge is disclosed. The surgical staple cartridge comprises a cartridge body defining an elongate slot. The surgical staple cartridge further comprises a plurality of staple pushers movably supported in the cartridge body for vertical travel therein. Each staple pusher operably supports at least one staple thereon. The surgical staple cartridge further comprises a plurality of movable drivers operably supported in the cartridge body. Each movable driver corresponds to at least one of the staple pushers and includes a camming surface thereon such that when each movable driver is contacted by an axially moving actuator, at least a portion of each of the movable drivers moves laterally away from the elongate slot to bring the camming surface thereon into camming contact with the staple pusher corresponding thereto to thereby move the corresponding staple pusher vertically within the cartridge body.

    摘要: A staple cartridge assembly comprising a cartridge body, a deck, a longitudinal row of staple cavities defined in the deck, a plurality of staples removably stored in the row of staple cavities, and a ramp is disclosed. The cartridge body comprises a proximal end and a distal end. Each staple comprises a base, a first leg extending from the base, and a second leg extending from the base. The base comprises a groove. The ramp is configured to move from the proximal end toward the distal end to eject the staples from the staple cavities. The ramp travels along a path aligned with the bases of the staples. The first legs are positioned on a first side of the path. The second legs are positioned on a second side of the path. The groove of the base is configured to receive the ramp as the ramp travels along the path.

    摘要: A fastener cartridge can comprise fastener cavities arranged in longitudinal rows. A first fastener having a first configuration and a second fastener having a second configuration can be stored within a longitudinal row. First fasteners having a first configuration can be stored within a first longitudinal row and second fasteners having a second configuration can be stored within a second longitudinal row. Each first fastener can have a proximal leg, or leg portion, extending at a first proximal angle and a distal leg, or leg portion, extending at a first distal angle and each second fastener can have a proximal leg, or leg portion, extending at a second proximal angle and a distal leg, or leg portion, extending at a second distal angle. The first proximal angle can be different than the second proximal angle and/or the first distal angle can be different than the second distal angle.

    摘要: A surgical instrument that includes an elongate channel that is configured to operably support a surgical staple cartridge therein. In at least one form, an anvil is pivotally coupled to a proximal end of the elongate channel such that the anvil is pivotal about a discrete, non-movable anvil axis defined by the elongate channel. A firing member is configured for axial travel within the elongate channel in response to an application of firing motions thereto. The firing member is configured to movably engage the anvil and the elongate channel to space the anvil relative to the elongate channel at a desired spacing as the firing member is axially driven through the elongate channel. A closure member is configured to move the anvil from an open position to closed positions relative to the elongate channel upon application of closure motions to the closure member.
