摘要： The invention relates to the use of a microbicidal agent containing polymeric quaternary ammonium borate, obtained by simultaneous reaction of amines of the formula I or II ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 to R.sup.7 and A are as defined in the description, with 1 to 20 mol of ethylene oxide or propylene oxide and 0.6 to 1.5 mol of boric acid, boric acid esters or salts of boric acid, in each case per mole of nitrogen equivalent, as a preservative and/or disinfectant for industrial products and industrial plants.

摘要： Cosmetic, dermatological and pharmaceutical compositions containing quaternary ammonium compounds, particularly for hair-treatment, require low setting points, good solubility and dispersibility in aqueous media and a low flash point. It has now been found that such compositions can be formulated with quaternary ammonium compounds essentially free of short-chain alcohols such as isopropanol. The novel composition comprises: a) at least one quaternary ammonium compound and b) at least one branched alcohol having 8 to 36 carbon atoms or a mixture of at least one branched alcohol and at least one unbranched alcohol having 8 to 36 carbon atoms.

The invention provides compositions comprising a) at least one quaternary ammonium compound, b) at least one branched alcohol having 8 to 36 carbon atoms or a mixture of at least one branched alcohol and at least one unbranched alcohol having 8 to 36 carbon atoms, and c) at least one polyhydric alcohol having 2 to 6 carbon atoms. The resulting compositions have a low setting point or melting point, good solubility and dispersibility in aqueous media and a low flash point.
