    摘要: A light collector for directing light to a concentrated area on a target surface such as for use with a linear LED array used as an erase lamp in an electrophotographic printer. The collector includes a compound cylinder lens supported by a pair of reflecting members. The reflecting members reflect light rays from the LED array to the cylinder lens. The cylinder lens includes a lower surface for capturing the reflected light rays and a tongue extending from the lower surface for capturing light rays directly from the LED array. The cylinder lens directs and concentrates the captured light rays in a narrow line on a target surface. A plurality of cross-ribs extend between the first and second reflecting members to specularly reflect light beams from the LED array.

    摘要: A light source within a photocopy machine continuously shines high level, wide band fluorescent light on the photoreceptor to maintain the photoreceptor in a uniformly light-shocked condition. This constant level of light shock has no adverse effects on either the life or performance of the photoreceptor in normal operation. Thus, the photoreceptor becomes less sensitive to unintentional, uneven ambient room light and random, long lasting delta voltages within the print area are reduced so that print quality defects are minimized.

    摘要: A molding assembly for producing a magnetic development roller having relatively precise magnetic development fields for use in an electrostatographic reproduction machine to develop a latent image recorded on a photoconductive member of the machine. The molding assembly includes a cylindrical member having a first end, a second end, a first radius, and a shell portion. The shell portion includes an outer surface, and an inner surface defining a molding cavity that has a second radius corresponding to an outer radius of a magnetic development roller molded within the molding cavity. The molding assembly also includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced channels formed within the shell portion, with each channel of the plurality having generally parallel walls, and being located immediately adjacent the inner surface of the shell portion for containing a permanent magnet suitable for inducing a magnetic field in a magnetic development roller molded within the molding cavity. A permanent magnet is placed within each channel of the plurality of channels, and is spaced from each wall of the parallel walls of each channel. As placed, the permanent magnet defines an adjustment space therefor with each wall of the parallel walls. Importantly, the molding assembly includes an adjustment device for precisely adjusting a magnetizing position of the permanent magnet within the adjustment space. The adjustment device includes at least one pair of first members for adjustably moving the permanent magnet radially relative to a center of the molding cavity, and at least one pair of second members for translating the permanent magnet non-radially relative to a center of the molding cavity, thus efficiently adjusting the magnetizing position of the permanent magnet for inducing relatively precise magnetic development fields in a magnetic development roller molded within the molding cavity.

    摘要: A belt tensioning device for minimizing tension variations in a moveable endless belt configured to be mounted for rotation about rollers mounted to a frame of an image printing device. The belt tensioning device includes a tension roll forced into contact with the image retaining side of the endless belt by a tension exerting mechanism. With the tension roll engaging the image side of the endless belt, a pair of mounted rollers combine with the tension roll to form an open loop for sharply turning the endless web from a first direction to a direction generally perpendicular to the first direction and back again to the first direction thereby tensioning the moveable endless belt and minimizing unused imaging space on the belt.

The refractive body advantageously can be made from resinous materials, such as plastics, but can be formed from any refractive material as may be appropriate.
