    摘要: Herein disclosed is a brake system for use with an automatic transmission for braking a rotatable member such as a brake drum, which is accommodated in a casing and connected to the sun gear or the like of a planetary gear mechanism, by bringing a brake band having two ends into contact with the outer circumference with the rotatable member. The brake system comprises: a cylinder tube so held in a predetermined position in the casing as to move forward and backward in the tangential direction of the rotatable member; a piston fitted in the cylinder tube; a piston rod united with the piston and projecting from the cylinder tube such that it is connected to one end of the brake band; an anchor rod so held in a predetermined position in the casing as to move forward and backward in the tangential direction of the rotatable member and conneced to the other end of the brake band; a connecting member for connecting the cylinder tube and the anchor rod so tha they may move together forward and backward; and a valve mechanism disposed in the cylinder tube and adapted to be opened, when the cylinder tube is moved by a force received in a predetermined direction from the brake band through the piston rod to either apply a fluid pressure in a direction to reduce the fastening force by the brake band or release the fluid pressure.

    摘要: A gear-shift control system of an automatic transmission, in which gear shift schedule is appropriately changed-over in correspondence with the change of a road surface situation. Low-friction road surface detection device detects a low-friction road surface so as to select the gear shift schedule for the low-friction road surface adopted to start the motor vehicle with second gear. After the selection, a holding device holds the gear shift schedule for the low-friction road surface until an accelerator is pressed next.

    摘要: A control apparatus for a vehicle for a continuously variable transmission (CVT) whose speed ratio is continuously variable, the apparatus including a mode selector responsive to a currently required output of an engine, for selecing one of a continuously variable speed mode in which the speed ratio of the CVT is continuously changed, and a stepping shift mode in which the speed ratio is changed in a plurality of steps. The apparatus further includes a first control device operable in the continuously variable speed mode, for continuously changing the speed ratio of the continuously variable transmission so as to operate the engine with minimum fuel consumption, and a second control device operable in the stepping shift mode, for selecting one of a plurality of speed-ratio positions corresponding to the above-indicated plurality of steps, and for maintaining the selected speed-ratio position, based on the detected currently required output of the engine and the detected running speed of the vehicle.

The slip detecting device is provided with a device for detecting a rotational speed of the specific part in a driving system, whereby occurrence of a driving wheel slip is detected based on the speed variation state in the rotational speed such as the gradient of variation in the output shaft rotational speed when shifting. Therefore, a driving wheel slip can be detected at a low cost, regardless of the accelerator pressed condition.
