Abstract: A fuel injector is provided for the radial introduction of a fuel/air mixture to a combustor. The fuel injector includes a frame having interior sides defining an opening for passage of a first fluid; at least one fuel injection body; and a conduit fitting. The at least one fuel injection body is coupled to the frame and positioned within the opening, thereby defining flow paths for the first fluid. The at least one fuel injection body defines a fuel plenum, and a set of fuel injection holes are defined through an outer surface of the at least one fuel injection body. The conduit fitting is coupled to the frame and conveys fuel from a fuel supply line to the fuel plenum. Fuel and the first fluid mix in the flow paths and are delivered through the outlet to the combustor.

Abstract: A staged injector in a combustor of a gas turbine. The staged injector may include an injector tube comprising a lateral wall enclosing an injection passageway that extends between an outlet and inlet. An outboard segment of the injector tube may include an exterior face. A cover may be formed about the outboard segment so form a surrounding plenum. The cover may include a side wall that radially overlaps the outboard segment and forms a first portion of the surrounding plenum therebetween. A ceiling wall of the cover may form a second portion of the surrounding plenum. A screening plate may be formed within the side wall of the cover that includes a multitude of apertures configured to fluidly connect the first portion of the surrounding plenum with a feed cavity formed exterior to the side wall.

The injector body defines an inlet to the flow passage and the boss defines an outlet of the flow passage.

Abstract: A fuel injector assembly includes a shroud defining a fuel manifold therein. The fuel manifold is fluidly coupled to a fuel line to receive a fuel therefrom. The fuel injector assembly further includes a center body and a plurality of vanes operatively coupling the center body to the shroud. Each vane of the plurality of vanes is circumferentially spaced from circumferentially adjacent vanes to define at least one passage therebetween for routing of air therethrough. Each of the plurality of vanes has at least one outlet hole in fluid communication with the fuel manifold and at least one passage of the at least one passage for expulsion of the fuel into the at least one passage for mixing with the air. A fuel injector outlet is defined by an inner wall of the fuel injector assembly and positioned to direct a fuel-air mixture out of the fuel injector assembly.

Abstract: An air shield for an injector of a combustor includes a first section that extends axially from a first end to a second end. The first section includes at least one side wall and a top wall. The at least one side wall and the top wall at least partially define a channel configured to distribute a channel airflow to the injector. The air shield also includes at least one first inlet defined through the at least one side wall and at least one second inlet defined through the top wall.
